Great tip! My Junair is almost a year old, so i should look into maybe trying to change the oil. I love these compressors!

Thanx and Yes, If you use the compressor often/daily. I too like the JUN-AIR silent compressors. How did things turn out with yours being damaged, as you mentioned in your vlog? What was the issue? Did you get used? I know a place where you can get SJ-27 equivalent oil at a reasonable price. I'll post the link.

I think another way, kind of according to the manual, at least for the 3-4, is to take inline air filter off, then carefully tip compressor over on its side so that the oil comes out the air line you just removed... also do this while the motor cap is still on... this way you wouldn’t need a syringe and may even empty out more than you could get to using the syringe method

Yeah, those are much lighter units the 3 and 4, The method I used prevents you from damaging the motor which is pretty fragile with welded copper oil splash or transfer pipes and inner motor stabilizing springs that can crack or snap if the motor is mishandled or falls due to tipping the unit. JUN-AIR oiled head compressors are expensive to have repaired or parts replaced. I have two units and the oil in my unit was the original oil that came in the unit and was over 20yrs old at the time I changed it and it really could have continued working with the old oil as neither of my units have seen major use and have been well maintained.

My JUN-AIR 6-25 is 19 years old and it's been great. Recently, it has a bit of oil coming out of the filter. Not much, but enough that I was worried. After reading the comment from AK47LOGS, I felt better about the situation. However, the compressor has also started a hissing sound coming from inside the oil/motor area. Have you ever heard of this problem? The compressor still gets up to the proper PSI, the motor shuts off, the hissing sound begins and warm air is forced out of the filter, along with a little oil.

Hi sr, i just got a used compressor like the one you are showing in the video. I wonder if it normal that some oil should come from the air tank. I place a blue paper towel in the air exit and some brown spot (not to dark) is left over the papel. Air output comes directly from the air tank. I will appreciate if you could give a comment about it. Regards!

Hi the part you are referring to is the air intake filter and you will need the actual filter for the compressor to work properly. You can order a replacement from GAST/JUN-AIR @ 1-269-926-6171

What type compressor do you have? what model type, brand? I can tell you how change your oil based on the model type compressor. Please pardon my delayed reply. I will try to reply ASAP...Oh do you need oil?, If your in the U.S. I know a website where you can get silent compressor oil for a reasonable price. Hey let me know.

I have the same model I had not used it in awhile. So I fired it up and it seems to run fine but I noticed a lot of oil in the condensation release. seems like way too much for normal use any ideas?

Hey.. How’s things, concerning your question , The oil in the water is normal for a compressor with a tank that has not been drained in while.. The amount will lessen as you use your compressor more frequently.

i have a jun - air ..and it loose oil from glass bulb ..between glass and silicone .. [not from metal back.].. [ i talk about the eye for oil level ] .. what can ai do to repair it, with out to throw the buble ?.. [thanks from greece]

@@nikosmoraitis6145 Take out bulb. Clean off all oil from it and smear some Loctite SI 5990 copper silicone around the bulb and let it dry for an hour. I just had to do the same with mine !

My apology on my very delayed reply..The plastic bottle on the right is for tank condensation drainage. Once you open the drain cock at the top of the tank pressure from the tank sends the mixture of oil and water build up through to that drain bottle through the attached clear hose.

i have a problem with my junair 12-25, oil is mixed with the air, the amount of oil is too much that the filter is deemed useless, what causes the problem? how can i repair this?

With an oiled silent compressor it is normal for the oil to mix with the compressed air coming from the compressor tank. You need to have a working coalescent filter installed on the compressor at the tanked and between the tank and air hose used to connect to your air tool. Installed like the one I have on the compressor i have in this video. The coalescent filter is special type of air filter that made particularly to remove oil from your outgoing air supply. You can get them from Grainger or from JUN-AIR but can be expensive.
