I appreciate this reaction so much... thank you for focusing on the lyrics and the message that jun wants to send us all. This song is amazing!!!!

I adore the lore in this cause this actually might be trilogy since when he finished limbo, he said he was working on two other songs that connects the story. In my opinion, this is like a story of a person accepting their own insanity. I'm thinking like Melanie Martinez's song called Mad Hatter. Limbo is probably him being in denial or confusion about accepting his own demented side, which by the end of Limbo he did open the chains of the box and it seemed like he accepted that side of him with the visuals of fire and him laughing maniacally. Psycho is probably him being high off of it, I'm thinking Joker-esque. Even the way he has whispery adlibs made me think of audio hallucinations, which is probably his inner thoughts convincing him he's not normal and he needs to stop lying to himself. Jun said the car crash is a 'sacrifice' but it's open to interpretations, and me personally I think it's him (current) killing himself (the old, sane him?), since we see him both in and out the car in diff frames. The third part of the story will probably be him just being happy in his own skin and insanity. As for the rose, it's actually also in Limbo, and some of us concluded its a representation of this character Jun is playing. In Limbo, it was untainted, but nearing the end he dripped wine or sth red on it before he opened the box (the box is probably him suppressing his insane side), then the box reappeared in Psycho, which got broken at the end to expose the tainted rose, which probably means just fully accepting this psycho within himself and not hiding it anymore cause it's not just opened, but more permanently broken. Which is why I think third song probably next year, would be peak craziness.

Jun's music and taemin's music give me similar vibes with how dark, sexy and psychotic it is. Jun is already my ULT but this just reminded me even more about how much i respect and adore this man.

EXCELLLENT analysis! I think all of us--in our uniqueness--are considered "psycho" to those who don't think like or understand us. Jun is probably the most laid-back and childlike in Seventeen. Even the members say that. "Innocence is assimilated...and mocked." I'm sure Jun has felt this even from his members, because he really IS sweet and childlike. Doesn't mean he doesn't have "secrets" (interesting he's the one who sang that line in "Super"..."don't want to be embarrassed today by the me of yesterday [paraphrased] immediately followed by the line speaking of "secrets" too painful to tell anyone for fear of embarrassment)...and having grown up in the entertainment world, I'm sure he DOES have secrets he would NEVER want to tell/admit to ANYONE...since that's the ONLY way you make it big in Hollywood/entertainment...you must compromise yourself which could be embarrassing to you later. (Have you seen the movie clip where he was forced as a child to appear completely naked in front of his parents with only his hands covering his privates...forced to watch them eat and not allowed to join them...and then left there standing by himself as a punishment...a humiliation? Even as a child actor, I'm sure that scene may have been hard for him...and god only knows if he was ever taken advantage of as a child...just sayin'...since that's the nature of the entertainment world beast!) I'm theorizing of course; but even Michael Jackson who was repeatedly abused as a child was reputed to be the most childlike adult in the industry...y'know? His broken inner child trying to recapture his lost childhood as an adult...) Anyway, thinking (typing) outloud. We all have things that have happened to us as children that molded us into who we are today; and people who don't understand the adults we've become think we're psychos. (I'm also speaking from experience, since I've always been considered the "black sheep"...the weirdo...the heretic [for seeking TRUTH...not just what I was taught]...the insane one...because I dared to think outside of the box.) Whatever Jun's intention behind the words he helped write, I can certainly relate to them. What some people think is a joke makes me cry; and yes...sometimes I feel I'm the exception. But I'm not. There are MILLIONS out there JUST LIKE ME. So if you ask me, it's OK if someone calls me "weird"..."freak" (definitely been called that) or even psycho...because I am. In THEIR world, that is. Not in mine. And MY world is the only one I'm responsible for! I look forward to finding out more about Jun's thinking regarding the lyrics. I've read some of the comments below. Would love if anyone else has more to add. Funny thing...just last week and out of the blue, I dreamed about Jun. His hair was dark, just like in the video. I had NO IDEA he was releasing a video, so that wasn't even in my subconscious. He was very loving, gentle and kind towards me; and as he walked away, he turned back to look at me and said, "You're SO beautiful" before walking off and thus leaving my dream. I just found out about his new video TODAY, and I IMMEDIATELY recognized him from my dream (same look...same dark hair unlike his blonde of late), and I cried. I understood the lyrics; and if you ask me, Jun is telling ALL of us that no matter if we're considered psychos or weirdos or freaks, we're NOT alone...and we're ALL beautiful!

I just had to watch your reaction here because I knew you would really be hit with the lyrics and think about the symbolism and everything. Because it could be easy to get swept away with just visual and audio because it looks and sounds amazing even if you don't go beyond that surface. But I think you're right generally, like the idea that the world will mock innocence and declare desires as sin - then who isn't a freak or a psycho in a world like that? If he has to try to fit himself within a box that is the magically acceptable place between innocence and desire where it would be "normal" you have to feel nothing. I also LOVE that Jun got to debut this solo almost completly in Chinese. I think you hit something with the car being his mind kind of going out of control and breaking himself. It's so amazing it's hard to believe it's so short, right? This is a work of art. When I listen to it on Spotify it feels short, but when I watched it the first time I didn't even see the time and then afterward I was like WAIT IT WAS ONLY LIKE 2.5 min long??? And on Spotify the run time is only like 2:17 😢 What I hope is maybe we get performances with piano......... since there is piano in there and Jun plays piano and has said there was more piano in a version of the song. eee
