In an animated short film by Academy Award-winner John Kahrs, a lonely widow in historic South Chicago is inspired to start sharing the ride - and sharing her life, too. Story actually incorporates the product as the main focus/driving point of the plot and doesn't just make some dumb cameo to make it "seem" related. Unlike fucking Superbowl commercials, yes this is EXACTLY how you do an advertisement. This actually makes me want to try Lyft even

Not quite. The models you make start off a plain gray or white color. You then add color to it by adding a picture or image you've made. So, classical painting and drawing skills are still important.

I love driving for Lyft and this story just made it even better. 99.9% of my customers are so much fun and the .1% that I had a major problem with, Lyft took care of them. I just do Lyft for the heck of it. I'm retired, lost my son almost 3 years ago and driving for Lyft keeps me from going in to a real funk. Passengers make me happy and I know I do the same for them. You just never know who's going to get in your car and what you may be doing for them.

You are so spot-on, Kathy: every word. ...And I echo your sentiment about LYFT. ...A few days ago, I shared that on my online page, in having shared the following story: Back in college (San Francisco State University in 1991), I was walking along campus one day when I happened to have seen a purse lying on a grassy knoll. I searched for an ID, found it, and realized that the student lived only minutes from campus. Logic dictated that she and family must be going out of their minds with worry. So, instead of handing the purse to the campus Lost & Found, I decided to deliver it myself. I hopped a bus and soon reunited student and purse together. The folks at LYFT just did the same for me regarding my key chain I had carelessly left in the backseat, the first time I had ever done that on any form of transport in my life. (I left my jacket behind in grade school in the 70's once. That's it.) Apparently, with one turn of the hip, the keys decided to vacate my pocket without me noticing. Watch your valuables, people! (Never leave your wallet, keys, or anything else behind. Or you'll be like I was: pacing the floor like an expectant father!) LYFT saved me SO MUCH hassle! Thank you to the company!

Depends on the insurance you have - If you are going to drive on Lyft you should find which insurance company will cover you. Here in California I can choose from Metlife, Geico, AAA, and Allstate. Personally I have Allstate and my deductible is the same if I'm in driver mode or not.
@barrybambmessagedeletedbyy7467
@barrybambmessagedeletedbyy7467 7 жыл бұрын
matthew reyes 1. It doesn't snow like that in California where Lyft is available. 2. If you're in an accident during period three, you're supposed to use their insurance so the passengers injuries are covered.
@MR-cq6oo
@MR-cq6oo 7 жыл бұрын
1. Snow has nothing to do with my answer. 2. My answer says that you should have ride share insurance. I used California as an example, each state my vary. There were no passenger injuries as the driver was en route and not with passenger. If you have ride share insurance your insurance provider would cover you and your car. My insurance provider would cover me with this type of accident, not Lyft's because again I have ride share insurance.

I love these ads because they do more than just sell you a product, they tell you a story, one that makes you feel a little bit. And this is a perfect example of that, where it shows the emotional side of a company or product and how it actually can help others, or make people think about others. And that;s why this ad worked really well, it connected with an audience because it was speaking with us, not talking at us.

@QB84 I know EXACTLY where you were coming from with your initial statement. I loved it as well and I loved the fact that Lyft identified a Black owned business as well. As many bigger companies tend to overlook or not acknowledge at all. Representation is normally rare so it does go a very long way of being able to see that and it is appreciated. @James Robbins you sound like a All Lives Matter person, when once again the initial statement pertains not to you at all and is an statement of acknowledgement of "lack of______(insert hardship here)____". The comment was made in light and she was proud of what she was seeing and it's a proud thing to see. Of course you came about trying to ruin being able to be happy at seeing representation. Pending what appropriation and under appreciation normally happens to Black people, we like to see and acknowledge the sunshine we get from time to time. I hope you use the same gusto on your white counterparts that do the same. But of course you'll never get it.
@Quinarra
@Quinarra 7 жыл бұрын
No, goofball. I said nothing about the people in the animation. I specifically mentioned the Black-owned business, Sip & Savor, that was clearly highlighted in the video. I don't care how you feel about me being proud. Your little parallels don't even make sense, and are of no relation to my comment. Please take your white fragility elsewhere.

i got this as an ad before one of my videos. I loved the story so much, and the characters. and even the end surprised me!!! truly an inspiration.

Greatest commercial of all time. I almost skipped it when I was about to watch a video but didn't. I wish there was more commercials like this one that made you feel all warm inside.

All companies should make commercials like this, with story line and a nice ending that still promotes your product/service. I saw this on KZfaq once then, after watching it, looked up this and watched it five times. 10/10

this is how you make an ad, not hitting you in the face with what the company does, in fact they don't even say a word and it still both evoked strong emotions and made me want to watch the whole thing when it came up before a video i was watching.

You know you did a good job when someone elects not to skip the ad and instead watches all seven minutes. I loved this so much. Animation is lovely!

It's like a Slice of life comedy where grandma still has her license and dispenses words of wisdom and love to the many people she gives rides too! I love it!!! ♥♥♥

Lyft this is exactly how you do an AD. Make something people actually chose not to skip, something them helps them connect, relate, and feel. Very well done!

It is way too early in the morning for me to be crying over a Lyft short film. So glad I found this through the rigging artist’s demo reel on LinkedIn!!

The best thing about this ad is that it doesn't feel like an ad. It feels like a little short movie you'd see before the actual movie in a theater. It's fun, it's cute, it's freaking heartwarming. I don't mind coming back and watching this again and again.
