I was in the US Army and I can tell you that serving as a cook/chef in the military is definitely not a demotion,. He will get his promotions according to his time in the service and through his merits that he shows in his particular MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) Being a cook in the military is not looked down upon by fellow soldiers but is appreciated by his fellow comrades because they all know the time and effort it takes to make meals. When I served we all had to take turns doing KP and I have witnessed first hand how hard they work to get the meals out early morning, then a short turn around for lunch, then again for supper. It is a very exhausting, strenuous, but rewarding MOS.

I am exhausted just preparing a family Thanksgiving dinner every year. Multiply that by 100 people or more for three meals a day! The people who look down on military chefs have never eaten military food cooked by these chefs. I have and let me enlighten everyone. They are some of the best. Their food is delicious. It's one thing I miss most about being associated with the military. As for rank and promotions, it's the same as any other MOS. Each MOS has their lists and they get promoted accordingly. JK is doing a commendable job. A very important one at that.❤

OMG! Jeeze Dave, do you know Jungkook at all? We have all seen him do this position over and over and over. Sometimes with one or more members on his back. Get real....crying...riiiight. pfffft!

I think JK going to cook duty is the right choice for several reasons. ⬇️ One - I’ve heard he enlisted while having a knee injury which never fully healed because it kept being aggravated by the training. Being in the kitchen allows more time for his injuries to be rehabbed and get better. Yes he will be standing a lot, but it’s better than marching or doing multiple drills per day. Two - I heard it was recommended that he not do the tank artillery task as even with ear protection, it can be risky to your hearing. Jk is the voice of Korea and if his hearing is effected in any way it could mess up his perfect pitch. Three - I heard he was embarrassed by the attention some of the JiKook fans brought to him with those messages/letters that were being posted on the military communication boards. I can’t remember what it is called, but the higher ups in the ms had to shut it down. Whether some fans believe they are in a relationship or not, JK was not happy about it. A kitchen move allows him some space away from that situation. And 4 - JK is a great cook and he will be running the kitchen. It allows him to utilize his culinary skills and be a leader. I don’t know why some people think it’s degrading to be in the kitchen. He is a chef. Lots of strong smart men are. I am guessing that some people believed that JK would be the strongest super soldier there because of his physique, so this is a disappointment to them that it didn’t happen. That is their problem. He doesn’t need to live up to their Captain America super soldier fantasy. I am proud of JK. He is making the best of a bad situation and is trying to find something there that will make him a little happier. I think he will do exceptionally well and that’s all I care about.
