That is of course open for debate. Suggestions :Michel Platini or Ronald Koeman. Ronald Koeman as a defender scored a higher goal/match average than a Fernando Torres, many of them by free kick..MP and RK scored slighly less free kicks than Juninho (50 and 60) , but also played a lot less games. Other names on the top list David Beckham ,Ronaldonho ,Pele. Before my age Zico and one Victor Legrotalie (who?).. If you take it to freekickbgoals/games :. juninho scored 77/856 games=8.9% , and one Diego Armando Maradona scored 62/649 games =9.5% free kick goals per game . So 'Pelusa' is the best free kick goal scorer ... And that is quite logical, of course! But Juninho was fantastic as well of course!

The greatest free kick taker ever. He can shot the ball with power, shot it with less power, chip the keeper, swing the ball to the left, swing the ball to the right and swing the ball in 'S' shape. Incredible control! He have scored all types of free kicks in his career.

jesus. thats astonishing. i thought messi was the best to ever take freekicks, but this guy can pull off any technique. Curler, knuckleball, zipper, long range bazookas, all of them. Also notice almost none of the goals are deflected in, like you'd see in the compilation of many of the players today.

He is the best ever freekick taker! He uses different techniques to hit the ball depending on the distance and position of the freekick and especially with freekicks taken from long range the ball would actually gather pace on route to goal. Absolutely amazing! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Such power and precision from any distance or angle. Zico was the deadliest from short distance whereas Marcelinho Carioca the most diverse, but Juninho deserves a place among the all-time best free kick takers for sure.

Wouter Dehaut Nope. Juninhos power kick had no spin. It was almost all toe. His Knuckleball dipped and right before the keeper and is off speed with the laces. He talks about it in an intervie. How he knew he had the right power when the ball was not spinning. A true knuckle is slow and seems fast. If you boot it with your toe just right, it will swirve differently depending on temperature of the day and air density, wind. Its a wild kick. I take penalties with my toe. The goalie dont know where its going to go and neither do i

Watching the Eurosport program Eurogoals from 03-06ish was a treat because of this guy. I remember also that freekick VS Werder Bremen on replay while watching another CL match. Perhaps the greatest freekick I've ever seen as it happened.

All angles, all ranges, all styles. Any player in the world would be lucky if they can score from 35m+ free kick once in their career. He did it like 10 times. Most free kick specialists perfect one technique, but this guy does it all. There is no one even close to his level.

I'd love to see a comparison of complete FK statistics between him and other specialists like Beckham, Van Hooijdonk, Messi, etc. I think Juninho really is the best. What a maestro.

Dont doubt it. Ive seen many great FK specialists and im telling you this dude was a myth. You wont believe it even if you see it Its not even a debate. There was no one as good as him. There were guys brilliant at FK, but they too had a limit or preferred ange or angle. This guy didnt care about angle, distance, opponent, etc. He was a chesat code. Mihailovic was good, van hooijdunk was good, del piero, francisco arce, beckham, rivaldo, pirlo, even zidane were brilliant. Im sure i missed many other greats. Forgive my memory
