Bonsai-en is quite clear when explaining about their videos. I have stopped my bonsai about 20 years ago and thinking of rekindling my passion once again. Will definitely looked into your course and perhaps will message you if there’s any query on my end :)

Aussie Dave here Josh, beautiful work, that gives me great enthusiasm for me to work upgrading my junipers. 👍. I can't wait until you repot that cascade,, I have only 2 cascade 1/4 of your size, but break the roots getting them out 🤔

Enjoying your videos very much. A question if you don't mind, can I use a 3 years old magnolia that's been in a garden to make a bonsai by cutting the trunk and trimming the roots and fertilising ?

Well done on this cascading juniper. Even if you can't see the nebari having them roots in order and neatly kept is just as important as overall health health of the tree. Just one question that first left cascading off branch that you wired that's kinda off put. Later in the trees development is that going to be more raised higher or is it going to more anchor downwards. Either way I can't wait to see the outcome.

I love your design but I was trained to look for the center of the tree. (The tail) could be placed the opposite direction to get more light.

Hi Josh, I really love your videos and I have a short question about the taper for the main cascading trunk: Do you just let the same branch grow longer and longer (always the same leader and the taper evolves over time) or do you just cut it off sometimes and pick a new thinner leader for taper.

It looks like a refrigerator with a nice tree hanging from it. But I can see why you dont want to give it standing legs instead of big giant box or it might tip over. What if the pot was same height but only 1/4th as big but with 4 metal black iron legs with a tray at the bottom holding a balancing stone so it doesnt tip over? I thumbs upped the video for the nice cascading zigzag design. It definately looks better from the side view with the big tall-box pot

Hi josh I’m in Brisbane what is the best time to prune the branches on a juniper. Also best time to repot the juniper
@BonsaiEn
@BonsaiEn Жыл бұрын
prune after the first flush hardens in spring, you can also prune after the summer flush. the best time to repot is when the over night temperatures start to get over say 14c ( about now ) but before the day time temperatures get too high.

For. A young bonsai I dont cut anything right because it is still in development,? For a young bonsai do I leave it in the bonsai pot it came on or to I put it in a different one , also is a fast draining mix good for a juniper bonsai or what kind of soil you recommend , I put it in my porch where there some trees that sometimes block the sun is it still a good position, for it (I try to move it position for it to get enough light when the sun high How do I I thicken the brank ? Also do I change it's soil from the one it came from

Fast draining soil is important for tree development, but not so much for a tree which is considered somewhere near its final form

Good timing and proper technique will help. Without seeing your trees that have died it's hard to say what caused it.

You need to get more lights, your overall setting is black and when you were working on the roots I couldn’t see what you were doing.

How about a warning before the loud obnoxious music? I don' t get it. Take a quiet peaceful art form and inject misery. EDIT: Second time you did. Just not needed. Good vid otherwise, very knowledgeable and a good teacher. End result is awesome. Love to see it in a few years.
