You are always so inspirational. Thank you for these hints and ideas. My current JJ is using a hardback book cover with four sewn-in signatures of 8 pages each. I use my JJs for daily writing, so the pages are mostly intentionally plain--many are tea-dyed copy paper--and I'm adding tags and occasional pockets as I go through the pages. I'm keeping to a simple theme of wildflowers throughout, which I'm taking from 'Wildflowers of the British Isles,'which is a book full of beautiful illustrations. I'm new to JJs (I'm using my third one now), and finding your videos a very helpful guide to the tips and tricks which add such a lot of interest to them. Thank you.

Well Sue it sounds like you have a lovely blend of papers to write on, and I totally get how satisfying it is to so some daily writing. I do that too. That book sounds interesting.. I enjoyed this video very much, and I loved your tips. Although I love all the fancy stuff people use to decorate their journals, I have a greater appreciation for simpler things. It reminds me that journaling can be done with any paper you have around and your own thoughts and ideas.

Absolutely......you said it perfectly. I am trying to reduce clutter as well....so I definitely try to use what I have. I do have the occasional crafty treat, and I buy books from charity shops, but the sentiment that you describe here is very much in my mind. What a lovely woman you are. Such a pleasant voice. I love your thinking process and videos. I mostly copy what see as I'm brand new to junk journalling and still working on my confidence. But it's fun and and little by little I'm collecting more things. Love going to thrift stores to see what I can find. There's a thrift store not far from me, where they see the books 3 for a dollar. It doesn't matter how old or big they are all the same price. Found a couple of readers digest collection of stories in a hard bound book, one being dated 1926. The pages are a gorgeous brown from age and is quick thick. Definitely want to do something fun with some of those pages. thanks for the inspiration.

I love this idea so much . A little less intimidating than an art journal . Want to start this to use when I want to be creative without getting tons of supplies out. How fun!! I've had my eye on that doodling book for some time now and I never thought of doodling on scrapbook paper before-looks great!! joie de fi I recently scored a large Readers Digest book called A Garden for All Seasons which has some really pretty painted images. I usually have to read and page through a book before I can take the scissors to it. And one day I will own another Edith Holden book, I'm looking for her biography to read. Feels like looking for a needle in a haystack ...I'm just visiting thrift stores and used books for my hunt...the thrill lol

OMG that was such a fab video! One thumbs up doesn’t seem enough 😂 Love you and your journalling and the doodle was very inspirational- is it from that book you talked about in a previous video? I had been wondering how you were getting along with it. I’d love to see more doodles and maybe even a craft room tour if you fancy doing one!

joie de fi Thank you Joie! Both Pia and I cannot believe how long it took to make them. I honestly cannot count how many hours since most of the time it was creating. What was a surprise for me is how some pages were just difficult to get into while others I didn’t want to stop working on. Perhaps a video idea for you? How to get through a page you just can’t seem to get into finishing.

@@joiedefi yes it realy is. I am making my first JJ for a friend of mine who is always helpful to every1 and goes through a rough period. She needs to be able to use it for both arty stuff and to write down her emotions and memoiries. Now I prepared the first 2 signatures to be sewn in and have the papers for 2 more signatures ready to prepare, I am asking myself if some of the paper is not to lightweighted. I want to make a lot of (secret)pockets for her writings, she wants to keep them private. I dyed some of the paper with coffee and avocado. Maybe I should stick 2 together of the thinner ones. Do you have experience with that?

Sticking together papers when they are thin is an excellent idea. Just think about which glue to use.... maybe a glue stick to avoid too much warp/wrinkles of the paper 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❣️
