This poor little 1976 Chevette was waiting to met it's untimely fate... we couldn't bare to see it go to the crusher so we made the deal and saved her.

The big reasons the floor went fast was GMs lovely windshield leaks as well as snowy feet, and jacks damaging the pan right by the rockee corner that gets used to lift them. The used a LOT of galvanized steel in the lower 1/3 of these.

My sister had a friend who got one new in Highschool, probably a 77-78 model. A couple of years later, she came by my house and said it wasn't running well. Pulled the dipstick out and it was just crust. I asked her when she last got the oil changed, she honestly said " You're supposed to change the oil?" Only had like 50k miles on it, but it was TOAST!

Lol oh my... that poor little Vette. They were a great car but yeah... that oil was probably broken down after a few years. Thanks for watching. 👍

@@StreetFreaksGarage Yeah. This girl was like 5'2", weighed 100lbs soaking wet, but had HUGE boobs. I figured instead of brains, she got the boobs!🤣🤣🤣

I myself am not really a fan of them but a buddy of mine drove a baby light blue 76 with the 4,, spd manual shift transmission and it also had no Dr side floor pan, and the front fenders were rusted but his grandma gave him the car and he drove it to highschool until he saved enough money to buy a 79 gmc c15 Sierra Classic 305 2bbl long bed th350 short tail transmission a rusty truck but he wanted a truck

My first car was a 1976 Chevy Chevette I got it in 1983 . Lone it had it for about 6 years great gas milage .. I can't tell you how many people i could get in I remember driving to a concert in a snow blizzard it did very well in the snow . It had over 450 k on it when i gave it to my sister . I wish i could post a picture of it here:)

Awesome 76 is our favorite! They are such a great little car. They do get incredible gas mileage. I had a few as a teen, matter of fact a 78 was my first car. Wow that's alot of miles!!! Just my opinion, there is no way thats factory molding or even dealer installed. Back in '76 it would've been riveted on.

Belt line trim is stick on all years. Rocker trim and glass trim get body tabs for the plastic retainers but the side belt line is all stick on.
