Literally spent hours trying to figure all this out! This video is better than Roland's overview videos! Thanks for sharing!

Got my Juno X yesterday and a massive thank you for this video. Searching the web and KZfaq and stumbled on your channel thank heavens I did. Keep any tutorials coming as it’s a massive help for a newbie like me. Thanks

It's great. I remember in the 80's when we used to layer 3-4 synths together to create those massive keyboard piano/rhodes sounds. 30+ years later those sounds come back again in a single synth layered up! I like the sound of this Juno X. Seems useful in production.

Thank you ! I looked a week how to create a scene from zero. Nothing on internet, manual is useless. You showed me how to change an existing scene. There is still hope. I will try to.learn to make a new scene. I made the rythm part but when i try to put anything on part 1 there is no way to choose instruments. Then some strings, pads come out of nowhere. There must be 5 butt8that must be pressed to be able to assign 1 instrument to part 1 of a scene that im3working on. Roland is crazy

The idiotic thing about the layout of this synth is that the Part/Osc On (buttons 9-13) are effectively useless. What they SHOULD do it turn on or off each partial for each of the 5 Parts, which you select with buttons 4-8. But when you change the current Part, it doesn’t jump to the on/off settings you’d set there previously. Great sounding instrument ruined by terrible user experience design. I’ve had mine for a year and I am still totally confounded by the asinine interface.

Very helpful! There are very few resources on this and the manual is really quite useless. I’ve always found that Roland synths using complex menus are not that easy to follow. Also using the Juno X in a DAW in not a lot of fun !

Thank you very much! I've got my Juno-x some days ago and your video is very useful. Just want to get 10 free sound packs (it's a purchase's bonus).

Very comprehensible and good video. I think this layering tool existing since a longtime ago. On a 2006 Juno G it is much easier, with bigger screeen. (I mean the layering)

how to make a scene , please? i made a scene with only a rhythm - i cannot add other instruments- the manual is not explaining

I watched some reviews about the Juno-X. And some of them mentioned the external Roland editor which gives you plenty of insights, when you editimg a patch. At least from what I could see in the presentation. Maybe this is what you are looking for?

Roland manuals: have you also checked the Reference Manual and the Parameter Guide ? Those usually have the better stuff than the User Guide.

This was super helpful! Just got mine today and it’s incredibly complex. Do you know if there’s a way to assign the filter to an entire scene with multiple layers?

Great question, I am not aware this could be done, but might be wrong.

There is a way to make changes to just a single Tone, or make changes to the Scene as a whole. I’m still waiting for my Juno X to arrive (I have my fist synth still, a Juno-6). In the meantime, I’ve printed out all the manuals and read them cover to cover already. (Yeah, I’m THAT guy. Lol) However, there’s no substitute for hands-on experience, so to Themixclinic, thanks for this video. I’ll be better equipped when mine arrives. To explain Ryan’s question, take the time to watch this guy’s video. Really helpful. At about 24:20, he discusses editing Tones versus Scene-wide parameters. Very helpful explanation. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rt9le6dlnMWblJs.html

yes no doubt, I find the online manual on Roland's site goes a bit more in depth. Check it out.

This is quite cool but what function would this serve ultimately? Obviously, this is saved as the scene in the window when you first select scene/part, can those stacks become the individual parts of your pending sequence? Or do they serve as a singular performance? To clarify, I am asking if you can use these stacks as a single part in a sequence? Or are they just for performances? Cheers and thank you for the time and effort put into this video. Pretty cool indeed.
