About time for a all retro synth with new features. I loved the Juno 106 back in the day. It was a cheap synth that had a big sound. I loved the slider controls instead of knobs! Glad to see the look and functions are on this new model! It's a must have for synth lovers like myself!

I love the idea of this Juno X. I have a Fantom 7 and this would go nicely. Two things i really dont know why they have put in are the warm up and ageing thing. Why? The out of tuneness and continual tune button pressing is one thing i would like to stop having to do on my JP8.

So conflicted between the Yamaha MODX+ and the Juno X. Can you offer some guidance for a newbie? I’m looking to take some online classes to learn basic piano chords and I ALSO LOVE the idea of being able to adjust the sound on the fly like the Juno X and the Roland Cloud sounds pretty cool to have that capability to add and download in the future, which Yamaha does not have such an ecosystem.

This synth could be possibly used to do a modern take of the Peter Howell theme tune like the sounds around 21:00 could be used to recreate the brass that was originally done on a Jupiter 4! The middle 8 sound is the hardest to recreate. The only synths I know that can reproduce that sound are the Vital and the TAL-NUX-LX only those 2 can do the Howell middle 8 as far as I iknow!

I'm in the middle of deep-diving KZfaq videos on this synth and I just watch one where the guy held a chord as he scrolled through different presets while he searched for the next patch to demo. Once he let go of the chord and played again, the new patch was there. Nobody's mentioned this feature in any of the videos I've watched but this guy did it without realizing I was paying attention to that. So I think your question is a "Yes".

Please, could anyone tell me, if the Jupiter X has a better keybed vs the Juno X? (It seems that the Juno X has the Fantom 06 keybed, only now with aftertouch, however I suspect the Jupiter X may have the Fantom 6 keybed - not sure about either one.) In other words, if the Jupiter X keys are mechanically superior to the Juno X? Or they are equal? Or Juno's keys are better?
@mac651000

The Jupiter X does indeed have the same keybed as the Fantom 6 and 7 series, and it is, in my opinion, superior in feel to the one fitted on the Juno x and Fantom O series.

Don't get me wrong, it sounds good, but it seems VERY similar to the Jupiter-X. There's even a Juno 106 soundbank on the JX. Are the 106 sounds on this new Juno X different than that? This kinda feels like the same synth dressed up to look like a Juno.
@maccagrabme
@maccagrabme 2 жыл бұрын
It is, its the same zencore sound engine but with some expansion models missing that you have to purchase to make it the same as the Jupiter X and by the time you've done that its not far off the price of the Jupiter X.
@GusFogle
@GusFogle 2 жыл бұрын
@@maccagrabme Seems like there's not much justification for owning both synths then. I already have a Jupiter X. It sounds very good and I enjoy it, but it's full of software bugs. The constant updates from Roland have helped with that somewhat, but I don't think I'd ever take it out of the studio to use on a live gig. Roland keeps dropping the ball on not doing a fully analog synth. With Dave Smith and Tom Oberheim coming back with fully analog offerings, Roland constantly making digital versions of their old synths is far from what synth players want.

It's a fantastic tool in the studio and it sounds great, but even with a bunch of software updates it behaves oddly sometimes. nope! the juno-x is another overprized plugin/software controller for the roland cloud for 2000 bugs, no analog reissue, no innovations! senseless since system-8/jupiter-X. lacks of an analog 6/60 reissue. juno-x engine isn't brand new - it's another simple zencore copy in a vintage case. korg released with the prologue a 16v analog 0B6 OSC reissue + 16 digital SDK OSCs for less then 1500 bugs. are u kidding us, roland? roland is decreasing themself to an ordinary software/vst dealer.

No DAW here, that is the Akai MPC boxes and the Force. A DAW is a digital audio workstation, newfriend. You can make a full track on it alone and export a WAV mixdown for use in whatever you please. The Juno-X doesn't even come 25% close to that. System-8 is much higher quality emulation, but too CPU-heavy so low polyphony and then performers reject it, that's why it's unpopular. Integra-7 has the SuperNatural engine from the old Jupiter-50, it does nail the Juno-106 patches really well, but Zen-Core is a different beast from this. JU-06A is a toy for beginners and synth collectors. Completely unrelated, but it is a high quality emulator that matches the real thing, like System-8. Juno-X is a watered-down Fantom-0 with a price increase. Or Jupiter-X in new clothes. Ultimately, a stage keyboard. But what do you care anyway? You're obviously not a musician or synthesist, why are you posting?

On the contrary; it is one of our most anticipated instruments. With artists coming down to HQ and testing numerous innovations and aspects taken from their time with JP-X. It's expected to sell phenomenally well in our industry space and many of my colleagues and friends will use them for their live shows when things return to a more normal standard. So speak for yourself, not others.
@SR-ih1be
@SR-ih1be 2 жыл бұрын
@@ErraticFaith It's perhaps useful for live players, but that's definitely a niche, & not the actual main reason people still want authentic Juno 106s decades later. To call this VST in a box "anticipated" is just plain silliness. It is perhaps anticipated in the sense that the majority of musicians in the synth community have come to expect the worst from Roland, which is honestly just very sad if you think about it. The synth market is not clamoring for this overpriced inferior technology packaged to look exactly like the instrument that made Roland so revered. It will not sell phenomenally well. It is a joke.
