The story of Jupiter Farms and its uniqueness.
Why awareness and protection are key to preserving the rural lifestyle in Jupiter Farms.
When COVID19 hit and JFR & JFEC had to take meetings with all seven Board of County
Commissioners, we realized that many commissioners had never even been to The Farms and had no idea what our area looks like and how we became The Farms.
We approached local filmmaker Cliff Gordon to see if his production company (Blue Sky Productions) could create a film, recording some of the history of Jupiter Farms and what makes us unique.
This is the product of all our efforts. We hope you enjoy it.

When I was a freshman in high school in 2000, we moved out to the Farms. We bought a house with a small 2-stall barn on the property, got a few horses, and my folks still live there! My husband and I got married there, right in the barn next to our horses! We also had a beautiful baby girl in October 2019, and we were living in a townhouse in Tequesta when I got pregnant. We always dreamed of buying our own house out here, so when I was about 6 months pregnant, that's what we did! There's no where else we would rather be to raise our daughter! We bought a beautiful house on 1.5 acres in the back south west corner, because we wanted to be as far from town as we could for the quiet and privacy. The Farms has changed so much since we first moved out here 20+ years ago. It's sad to see all the people who moved here from up north because they wanted to live in the "country", but then built ridiculous looking houses that were as big as their 1+ acre lots next to small quaint ranch houses. Then they complained about the dirt roads and petitioned to have them paved (couldn't have their Mercedes & BMWs getting dirty), and petitioned for even more changes. There's so many people who want to buy out here right now too, so the property values have skyrocketed... making it nearly impossible for middle class people like us to buy out here. The people buying are people with money who are getting into bidding wars, and then building more giant homes that stick out like a sore thumb and changing the entire vibe of our community! We are lucky we bought our home when we did last year, because we wouldn't have been able to afford to buy a home out here today. HOWEVER, I'm extremely thankful for all the hard work that the majority of our community does to protect it from more development as best they can. It's bad enough that they put up a bunch of cookie-cutter homes and made a high end gated community where there used to be cow pastures next to the highway. It seems like the developers keep slowly creeping in more and more, little by little, every chance they get. So I pray that the work you guys do, alongside the people who are the heart of the Farms, will be enough to keep fighting to preserve the Farms for years to come. It would be a shame to see this beautiful land (and way of life) be taken over by money hungry developers. This place is just too special, and it's already too over-developed in my opinion. Anyway, great presentation! I learned a lot about the history of Jupiter Farms that I didn't know before. Great work 👏❤

Fantastic presentation, thanks so much. Residents do have to be vigilant, so many greedy developers in SoFla that see this area as a moneyspinner.

Too bad Loxahatchee didn't do something similar. Every last bit of natural area is going to be gone soon. Hopefully Jupiter can stay protected.
