Welcome to Isla Nublar, where you and other scientists, dreamers, and schemers will build an attraction like no other. 5.0 - My absolutely favorite games. You can pry them out of my cold dead hands.
4.5 - Love this game! At the same time missing something that would make it a 5. Could be hard to table, lacking variability, a little light, etc.
4.0 - Really great game, almost always keeping, although has meaningful complaints as to what takes away from the experience.
3.5 - Really enjoyed, don't love it, may lose out to better games but the idea of never playing again is a bit sad.
3.0 - A good game, would play and suggest with the right people, if I never played it again wouldn't lose any sleep.
2.5 - A game I'd play again , but will never suggest it myself
2.0 - A game I don't want to play again
1.5 - A game I can't find any reason to recommend
1.0 - A game that is just bad.

Did you ever finish? Any final thoughts that differ from the mid point analysis? I’ve already received the game, but haven’t started playing yet. I’m curious about how you felt about it once you reached the other side without price being a factor (for those of us that have it, so it isn’t relevant at that point) Thanks. 🙏🏼

As this game nears release (KS fulfilling early), do you plan to give your final thoughts adjusted for completion of all 12 games? I’m curious if playing after completing the campaign would be any fun too.

Its interesting to hear that Alex doesn’t like when big reveals happen during game play. The only legacy games I’ve played are pandemic seasons 1, 2, and 0, but the most memorable moments in 1 and 2 were by far the big reveals during game play.

I love big reveals and Pandemic does it great. I don't like reveals that either add a lot of work or a lot of rules in middle of the game, save that stuff for between games. Pandemic does a lot of stuff between games, and then small impactful moments during the game.

Legacy games should be made of removable stickers so you can reset the game or keep it the way you want.

I want to play this with my 10 and 13 year olds; what "starter" games should we play with them to get them prepared for this one?

I read on wiki that “the skin of my teeth” is from Job 19.20, and skin in this case comes from the Hebrew “or”, being the bones in which the teeth are set. I imagine you would be better placed than me to decide if this is helpful, but in any case it seems all to do with the advanced state of Job’s disease. And the modern phrase therefore is to do with escaping with barely anything.

I feel like i’ll be able to pick this up on sale down the line around Christmas time. No need to back on kickstarter for me, especially considering i’m midway through multiple legacy games that I still need to finish first.

It's on mega sale online nowadays but the wife wanted to pick it up at the local game store about a month ago at retail and still hasn't been played lol. We're big into the IP so it's all good.

What if I've already played all the other legacy games? Then would you recommend it even with the high price tag and I'm neutral on the theme?

Not unless you're specifically hunting for another legacy game and there just aren't enough options.

A slightly deeper question for you on price: I cannot for the life of me figure out how they landed on that number ($120), especially in comparison to other games. For example, Kingdoms Forlorn is $30 more expensive and has so much more content from what I can tell. It’s possible the price is worth the stuff you get but if that is true they’ve done a pretty terrible job laying that out in their marketing. Can you with a straight face tell me you feel like the $120 price point is a fair number based on the amount of stuff in the box, compared to other games within that range?

$140 is basically robbery. I love the IP and I love Legacy games. What I don't love is getting taken advantage of. I'll wait for a Black Friday sale. Thanks Alex!

Still excited. Still pre-ordering it (it isn't a kickstarter, it just isn't.) Still HOPEFULLY gonna love the hell out of it. My girlfriend bought me Charterstone for a slightly early birthday present last night... it is our first legacy, we finished one game, we both really enjoyed it and are excited to continue on tonight after we get off work. So I'm hopeful that the legacy aspect of Jurassic World won't be a hindrance. I want to love this game. I kinda NEED to love this game. I don't care MUCH about the price (but agree it IS over priced) considering things like Zombicide (pick one lol) all-in, Chronicles of Drunagor all-in and Shadows of Brimstone and it's MANY expansions both big and small are things that exist and are on my shelf or are waiting for fulfillment from the crowdfund.

I watched Dice Tower playthrough and the building's mini game was when I knew this was a pass (I am huge fan of IP).

Yeah, I like a lot of the game, but to a certain extent the mini games feel like busy work as opposed to actually interesting puzzles.

Wow! This game sounds really bad for me. Cheers for the review, Alex 😊 I love your format - telling us the things we might not like is so useful. This is the first time where I actually feel those things would be game breaking for me. That amount of luck in such an expensive and play once Legacy game seems really harsh.

I think this is really rough, Sometimes philosophically "the journey" is more significant than the destination. That said, for a legacy game not to have an interesting ending is a let down... then again how many TV series that were vastly popular ever had a great ending (LOST...etc.)? For reviewing a legacy game to be unaware of the ending is perhaps a dangerous setup for serious letdown if the ending is a fizzle instead of a bang... it would be similar to everyone trusting a famous author so much that they are willing to buy 4 of his future books sight unseen and nobody knowing anything about them...oh wait...uh...crowdfunding did that already? right...ok nevermind... lemmings proceed in haste but are we heading off a cliff? Will it even be a cliffhanger? Ugh. I really liked Pandemic Legacy so for me knowing that it didn't come close is likely enough for me to stop the FOMO. I also didn't back the 4 books either... too many board games to enjoy a good book anymore.. lol. I will save my money for Awaken Realms upcoming events (TG KofR, CofB, etc.) "save" lol. Keeping up with KS FOMO requires a full time job to fund it (unless you are a KS influencer in which case it is your full time job...).

Could you perhaps play through Jurassic Park era stories and not played Jurassic world era stories and just play with the characters from the Jurassic Park era, I don't really care about the Jurassic world era hybrids and stupid ideals of people being bored of dinosaurs the way of thinking. Or maybe you can choose your own characters maybe choose certain dinosaurs and just play without the story, just play casually. I bought this game before I watched any reviews because I was excited about this even though I knew this game is not my type of game that I like, I love games where I can just open and play and put away, what terrifies me about this game is all the stickers and scratch off things, stickers peel and tear and looks ugly when placed on things and scratching off things gets all that scratch off powder all over the place not to mention it damages the game for resale once you're done with it or once you have gotten so far in the game where you are too tired of playing the game I probably wouldn't be able to finish this game since I hate reading long rules and my family hates it even more than I do.
