its because its designed for aps-c/s35, butfor those 4k 60fps shots its cool AF

It's a spectacular camera and I would love to share my thoughts on it. Just shot a wedding with the S5 and I'll be sure to incorporate the footage

I did! I usually do to get 4k 10 bit 60fps. Rarely do I shoot 1080

The S5 automatically switches to aps-c mode when using this lens, whether you're shooting in 4k or 1080p. The limitation is in slow motion, it only allows up to 60fps in aps-c mode, whereas full frame mode gives you over 120fps.

@@raksh9 Do you have an S5? I feel like I’ve seen videos with this lens in 4K30 and serious vignetting because it’s an APSC lens and that switching to 4K60 forces the crop and the normal viewing (no circular vignetting around the edges).

@@mr.s4849 I do have a S5. Mine switches automatically to aps-c crop when shooting with the Sigma, but it only did this after updating the firmware in both the lens and adapter. Prior to updating lens firmware, the Sigma would not autofocus accurately at all, and it would display a strange cropped image with black bars on one side and the bottom. It was also unable to access the aps-c mode. I just checked the S5 with the Sigma and ran through all codecs, it stays in aps-c mode and even greys out the full frame option.

@@raksh9 Nice-that’s great to hear. Does it switch to aps-c in all frame rates? 30 fps? I’ve been researching my next Lumix camera and have finally decided on the S5. I waited to learn about the GH6, it looks cool, but the different SD/CF cards, poor battery life I’m hearing, and not much help in low light (the DR boost seems inconclusive). GH5S dual native ISO great but lack of IBIS, so all roads point to the S5, now trying to plan some lenses. Thanks for your help!

@@mr.s4849 I debated about getting the GH5S for some time, especially in the last year or so as secondhand copies are fairly easy to find at a good price. The lack of IBIS was enough to keep me away, as I worked with the unstabilized GH4 for years and found the G9's IBIS to be incredibly freeing. The S5 seems to switch to aps-c at all frame rates, or mine does, at least. Depending on your budget, there can be a lot of lenses for the S5, everything from good condition manual focus vintage lenses to expensive native L mount lenses from Panasonic, Leica and Sigma. If you already have non-native glass for your Lumix cameras, it would be wise to check their compatibility via the Sigma MC21 adapter. Not all EF mount lenses play well with the MC21, even Sigma lenses. I have the 24-105 and even after updating firmware, the S5 will not activate IBIS.

I use 2 filters at the same time. 3 if I need a polarizer. Just be sure you get all the same thread size.
