Sometimes I think it is absolutely the best thing Eddie Vedder has ever sung. God, there's everything in here.

In 2011, I got sick and very weak. I went through a moment extremely complicated, with a separation that hurt me a lot. And a friend told me: "You need to watch this movie!" I cried ... I cried from the beginning to the end of this movie. And the way I see life changed completely. This movie changed my life. He turned me into someone better. This movie REALLY IS a lesson for us all.

The most emotional scene in cinema history imo. The ambient vocals and the silent landscape seem to generate the exact emotion that the Christopher must have felt in that moment. Pure freedom. Pure oneness with the wind and the air. I tear up almost every time I see this scene and even today I still can't decide whether the emotion I'm feeling is sadness or pure joy. The director did an incredible job in realising Christopher's journey. All I can say is, "Perfection!"

It's definitely up there.. strikes right to my core. There is a part of us that completely free, uncaged, infinite & pure.. sometimes, you can tap in to it. This scene from V For Vendetta brings me there also.. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/or6WadqpyrOqeJc.html&ab_channel=Nizzinny

Chris might not have educated himself enough about venturing into the wild, but there is something about him that we should all learn from. If the human race is to survive, we have to become less materialistic. We are destroying the planet and therefore ourselves by wanting more than we really need. Through this brilliant film and Chris' life, among others, I have learned this lesson for myself. One of the few movies that actually changed me for the better. Thanks Chris.

This moment with this song is just sublime, the realization of the physical pettiness but yet the psychological loftiness of the human being that is therefore able to wander in the blundless thoughts of the infinite.

Why all those science-fiction-films, if we have this sort of films. This film changed my life like no film ever did.
@VantageNoir3 жыл бұрын
Because sci-fi is ultimately a brain washing tool and a film like Into The Wild describes something opposite - connection with nature and subsequent raise of consciousness.

I've got Native American blood in me and have been fortunate to have lived in Alaska and experienced scenes like this countless times. Each time was special / unique in its own way. And under the Northern lights, each time I saw them I teared up. Close your eyes, open your ears, your heart, your sense of smell and your soul to the elements like McCandless did here in a place like this is something I miss doing. Thing scene as Chris opens his arms into vastness of Alaska's wilderness, touches me spiritually. As the old saying goes, "You can leave Alaska, but it never leaves you."
