Just a Few Acres Farm

3 жыл бұрын

Let's go to the tractor show! Today I'm at the Pageant of Steam in Canandaigua, New York. We'll look at the antique tractors on display, including ones made by International (Farmall), John Deere, Oliver, Minneapolis Moline, Rumley Oil Pull, and many others! There are also lots of big steam traction engines, steam traction engines, and stationary gas & steam engines.
Note:
-We do not offer farm tours or accept visitors
-We do not ship our farm's products
-We do not sell live animals

What blows my mind is every country went through the industrial Era, and thousands of inventors had there own ideas and added a twist here and there. And every product mined from the earth , every kind of crop and sawmill to earth moving machinery developed at different levels, and different times till it started to evolve to what we have now with inventors fine tunes things.

You made me watch three auctions in a row. You are so blessed to have your kids and your Dad to go with you. Having 3years to rebuilt my 1969 AMC AMX 390 I KNOW how hard it is to bring these back to where they belong. I love how you get excited about a really good resteration . I would love to see you find a old truck like that red one. You are so good at it and it's something that could be given down the line. I appreciate how much you adore what you do. I hope you get to a million veiwers to make a great income farming. You are a lucky person Pete. Neal

Hearing that whistle blow at lunch time took me directly back to my childhood growing up in Mechanicville, NY! Everyday, as a child, I could hear the whistle at the West Virginia Pulp and Paper Mill on the Hudson River blow at noon and at quitting time. Both my Grandfather and Father worked there. Sometimes my Mom would drive us up to the plant when the noon whistle blew and my GrandDad would come to a certain window, open it up and wave to us in the car. Me and my younger sister, (4 and 3 years old), were the moon and the stars in my GrandDad’s eyes. Thank you for that unplanned walk down memory lane. 😘

When I saw the title today I thought..”I’m not really interested in a tractor show”. However, I actually found it quite interesting even though I don’t understand how an engine works...it’s Greek to me. I did enjoy seeing the working steam engines (quite the era) and the miniatures were fascinating. The flea market is more my speed but I did enjoy the whole show Pete. 🥰👍

I took my lunch hour at the LaGrange Indiana steam and gas show today, It was absolutely identical to the show you were at. There was a beautiful restored Super M diesel TA. I thought of you. That one was way too nice to rake with. Same steam engines, same saw mill. The immaculately restored road grader was on a Ford Jubilee. The featured tractor here was Oliver and Oil Pull. Those guys certainly do a wonderful job making them better than new. I would be ashamed to bring my daily working 4020, M, 656,8N and Case 430.

I would've loved the flea market part of this event. The one thing that I love hearing about and I didn't realize they made until you showed us was your tractor that starts on gas then changes over to diesel. I want to read about it because I can't imagine how it's designed to be able to accomplish that but I definitely will learn more about it. Thanks again for sharing your family in these videos also.

I remember my Great Grandma having a kerosene ran washing machine and using it. I thought it was neat starting it for her. She also cook on a big beautiful wood stove. It was tradition to walk to their house every Saturday to butcher a big roasting chicken that shed serve with gravy on mashed potatoes and home made noodles. Also, we always had cream peas and a scratch cake with boiled frosting that always broke from the cake when you ate it. My Great Grandfather sold his restaurant in Chicago because it got shot up in a Mob shooting and moved his family to the pacific N.W. to make Moonshine for the locals and raise chickens, rabbits along with a huge garden for their income. At 10 years old I could skin a rabbit in a matter of minutes.
