@@ryanwilson5842 I got a bit teary-eyed watching the 856 getting loaded up, because it brought back emotional memories of when my dad passed away and his old Massey-Harris was sold. It's the end of an era for the farmer in the video. He had the tractor a very long time.

You could almost feel the sadness in the owners face when you were loading his last tractor up to leave. I remember when grandad had to quit farming and sell his first new tractor{Farmall Super C}. I remember when my grandfather died of a stroke and we later had to get everything prepped for auction. On Auction day, I was tasked with getting a small tractor started before the bidding. I had a knack for getting them started, so they let me do it (mid-teens), but nope, that day, she flooded and wouldn't start. My uncle jumped up and pushed me off and got it started. I felt like a bag of crap, embarrassed and sad are feeling like I failed in front of hundreds of people. Wasn't a great time.

The previous owner of the 856 seemed sad to watch his tractor going down the road. I grew up in a farming community in West Virginia and worked for a lot of different farmers. Watching the old owner reminded me of several of the farmers I worked for (that was 50 years ago) as they were forced into retirement simply because their bodies were worn out. It is a reminder that we are here for vapor of time, James 4:14. On a different note I am looking forward to your work on the 656, I really enjoy your tractor rebuild videos.

This video made me well up, Pete. Such good moments... how precious it was to watch your children drive the tractor and for us, your minions, to be a part of that special memory with them and with you. Thank you for giving us that. The display of the circle of life as the herd changes was captured in this video as well. The fields as they go through their changes as well. It all ties in with the seasons and the very heartbeat of existence and the meaning of life. Such a lovely depiction of the whole picture of what it means to live and thrive in life when you're in harmony with it all. The best part for me however was the moment you said, "I like having birds in my barn". I think that is so wonderful of you. Thank you for saying that. OH! And by the way... that ridiculous toothless termite joke you told took me beyond the edge of hilarity as that very same joke is the signature joke of my life as I have been telling that one for decades because it's the only joke I've ever been able to remember for some screwball reason. lol However, I always heard it this way... A toothless termite saunters into a bar, hops up on a stool, slams down his tiny fist and yell's, "WHERE'S THE BARTENDER!!" ...so have you noticed that every time you tell that joke it takes a while for anyone to get it? lol It is my number one all time favorite joke.

It's a tough day when equipment and animals go down your driveway for the last time. We are in the process of doing it now. While I am excited for the freedom of life after farming, I also have heartache is knowing it's all becoming a memory. It's hard to explain.

That 856 just purrs! Sounds perfect and starts right away. I think you made a great purchase! Nice machine and seems to have been taken care of very tenderly! Great video!

Hi Pete, Hillary and family. Great tractor. Fun to see your guys driving it. Dexters love to look right at camera LOL. Hope the piggies fulfill their duties. I’m always a little sad when steers are chosen for ……. But my dream of a mechanical shop project coming true, thanks, looking forward to it. Have a great week.

I like that new to Just a Few Acres Farm 856. A great addition. I always recall the International Farmall on my cousins farm across the river from our family farm. I just can not recall what model it was . I was 11 years old and got to take it for a boot back in 1961 Just good memories.

Your daughter and son both did a great job driving the tractor. I hope they choose to continue farming. Small farms are more important than the huge farms owned by corporations.

Pete, I'm so glad you'll be doing the 656 up, with the others to follow. I'll be watching as each one comes off the line! Good to see the kids wanting to learn to drive and take the new toy for a spin around the chooks. 😄

The new 856 if a big boy. Really nice and worthy of a good scrubbing and polish. The tool box is nice too. Paint it dark red after pounding the lid straight. You are A Lucky Guy.
