My initial reaction was that I really liked this song, albeit more pop-centric than the normal BM songs, however I could see it being the inspirational part of the new concept album. I initially put it down to a sugar hit and it wouldn’t grow on me like Monochrome did. I’ve now listened to the song four or five times and I’m liking it more and more. Man, how is it that I can fall in love with BabyMetal anymore than I already do? 😊

Sound on the Day-2 show was perfect, don't worry. I think Amuse is intentionally releasing MVs with live footage + studio sound, in other words "imperfect live video", because they have to block their "perfect live videos" by copyright strike. After the two-year long hiatus, this is a good tool to remind people of the attractiveness of BABYMETAL and gain new fans, I believe. I witnessed this performance last month and was mesmerized at the venue. Although I could not digest everything at the live debut, I finally grasped its artistry as a whole by this MV. This song reminds me of something but it is very difficult to explain it. The part with Su's calm voice makes me uneasy about something. The part with her powerful timbre and decisive facial expression together with sharp moves by Moa and Momoko makes me decisive for something. The problem is "what the hell is my 'something' ?" Great reaction. I've said this on some other reactions, but I feel this album, concept aside, is highlighting Su-metal's vocals more than anything and possibly more than has been the case in the previous albums - they each had maybe three or four songs that really did that, this one so far every song has done it. Of the four songs released so far 'Monochrome' is my own favourite. 'Metal Kingdom' and by 'Divine Attack' work well together for the concert openers. This one is still growing on me, but I know to wait for the live version. From the snippets of the other songs I've heard I am most excited for 'METALIZM'.

How many people were holding their breath, as Su's note went higher and higher, and waiting for the beat to drop?... I didn't start breathing again until the instruments kicked back in. Love Moa's vocal part in this.😅🤘🦊🤘

Thanks Bobby always enjoy your laid-back approach. I believe "The Other One" is is a transitional era and the songs are designed for Su to stretch her vocals and Moa provide her soft sweet voice. And drawing in a wider audience. On Fox Day a new era will begin (there are numerous hints this will happen). As most expect a third permanent member will be named. I suspect Koba has already developed new music for the next era, perhaps preparing for a new album after "The Other One." During the concert series with Sabaton, I expect some of the new material will be debuted. As most agree, hoping the third new member will be Momoko. IMO she has earned her rights to that spot. Yui will never be replaced, but Momoko will be part of the new era as a permanent member. She is quirky and her personality is very similar to Moa's. I wonder what Momoko's metal name will be and her princess title.

A heavier version was performed live. This music video version seems to have a stronger J-Pop element. This MV was filmed on January 28 and 29, the same days as Metal Kingdom. 28th there was a sound problem, but 29th the performance was perfect. I was seated on the side of KAMI's band on the 28th, so I was able to see the massive and intense performance right in front of me. Although they do not appear in the music video, the members of KAMI band were all conventional members and seemed to enjoy playing together. 😀

Great reaction as always, thanks! "Light and Darkness" is definitely far, far away from my personal music preferences, with that techno-pop (or whatever) vibe. With that said, I have to admit that Su's vocals are amazing as always, despite being the studio version and having too much production for my taste. And the song is finally growing on me with some other cool elements apart of the Queen's usual perfection, like that unexpected note during the chorus or that double bass pattern. But I know I need to wait until I listen to the actual live version to make a final decision about his one... it's not my first time... 😁 Until next time!
