As a now retired RN health care costs are off the charts. It is just not these people but so glad they got arrested. The cost for sumple supplues in a hospital is just gouging and needs to be investigated.

My doctor used to max my insurance for 3000 a visit, duplicate charges each month, plus flat out fraudulent charges for things that i never recieved nor did i need or ask for, I switched doctors and meant to report him over it but forgot to get back around to it

We have a major fraud crisis in the USA many USA Congresspersons have anchor homes in their districts that is not their primary residence as is required by law to hold office this leaves them detached from what life is actually like for those they are supposed to represent they don't live in the rough neighborhoods the beat down cities drive over roads that look like the surface of the moon they are above the squaller and chaos they have created spouting empty platitudes "everything is fine" all your bills went up and you are living on credit cards but we have the strongest economy in the world! They need to be prosecuted removed and prevented for holding office in the future as they are all criminals.

I provide this response with respect and hope: How long do you think it should take to build a case and get it to a Grand Jury, then to prosecution phase? Consider that investigations and building a solid case takes time. I've never worked in the legal field but I did think of some things that could help me better understand why it took so long for this case. Think about the number of documents that must've had to be obtained, via warrant; the review process, reports written, finding witnesses, multiple interviews, field work to corroborate statements and allegations; writing interview reports; coordinating all the evidence and reports, reviewing all of it, submitting to supervisor, making improvements to the package, resubmitting to supervisor, then, finally setting meeting with prosecutor and then more reviews and possibly more investigation before presenting to grand jury. All of that takes time, especially when it's necessary to coordinate scheduling with everyone involved.

Several years ago I was in an accident and after surgery I had to go to rehab. Now I had to go for an hour a day 3 or 4 times a week and during that hour I was supposed to have a nurse help me do exercises and different types of things like that, well after being there for several visits I noticed that during that 1 hour that she was supposed to spend with me she also had two, three, four other patients being billed for that same hour. Somehow that didn't seem right to me and when I called my insurance company to inquire about it they could care less, that insurance company happened to be Medicare. So one nurse charging 4 people for the same hour and multiple nurses in the same company adds up quite nicely for that company.

Something similar happened to a relative of mine. He went to a nursing home for rehab after a hospital stay, had about 10 days of rehab in the rehab room with all the equipment and the sessions were about 1 hour long. Then he was diagnosed Covid positive and was no longer allowed in the rehab room. They came to his room every day and did about 10 minutes of bed exercises instead. He got an itemized bill and saw that they charged the same amount for the long sessions as for the much-abbreviated ones. Ultimately his insurance paid (nursing home thought he was self-pay, that's why he got the itemized bill).

Why is the cost of medical care so high? The USA granted the American Medical Association the monopoly on licensing doctors and pricing of services this tripled prices and limited new doctors to 110,000 per year aka supply and demand. This increase in prices made medical insurance a necessity and their costs and profits were added on then we had Medicaid & Medicare increasing the demand for services when there is a artificial limit on the number of doctors all subsidised so prices went up again. Last is the hospital and ambulance systems in many States new companies have to ask for permission from established companies in order to start operations this leads to denial for the start up or collusion in pricing.
