The CGI was God awful

Zack’s attention to detail when it comes to visuals has always been on point. I don’t think Snyder is to blame for the poor visuals. That’s what happens when you bring in another director (Joss) who has a totally different aesthetic style and thinks that brighter colors make everything look better. Zack always knew what he was doing with his choice of color grading and film grain.

Can’t wait for Aquaman.

Don't let this distract you from the fact that Sharknado has a 80% on rotten tomatoes while JL has 39%

I'd give it a 7.5/10 Wasn't great or anything but was pretty enjoyable at times, I feel the characters were brilliant, all of the main heroes were entertaining to watch and I think that's the main reason why it was quite good, Action was pretty cool too at times Downsides are the plot wasn't great and the villain was bad

That email file scene introducing those characters was a great way to tease them without crowding the movie....

11:02 Interesting point. My counterpoint is that Steppenwolf is addressing the weapon's destructive power, not it's form. He's holding the missile like "Is this the best you got?" Steppenwolf's battleaxe is far more destructive (e.g. during fight with amazons). For example, Thor's hammer is technically "primitive" compared to Tony's suit, if we're just comparing weapon forms. But in destructive power, Thor's hammer wins.

What sucks is you can tell they gutted this film after Snyder had to leave. They played "gotcha" with us by continuing to use Snyder's principal photography in very recent trailers and TV spots and then discarding a bunch of it for the actual release. I hate to think it but... His absence was used to change it... A LOT. If they had reservations about him, they should've parted ways with him much earlier. If not, let him make his movie. No stupid mandates. This was obviously going to be his last DCEU movie. WB should've just let him do it and move on.

To my defense one of the reasons it was bad because of changing of the director. Also, it was rushed, Once Joss Whedon stepped in for Zack Snyder he only had months left for reshoots and post production. If it hadn't been for Zack Snyder's personal issue this would've been a great movie.

You know what I remembered, Barry goes back in time to tell Bruce that Lois is the key. He most likely says that to Bruce because when they bring Superman back, he ends up destroying the entire Justice League and the entire world. It’s at that point where someone tells Barry that Lois would’ve stopped Superman, and he runs back in time to tell Bruce. I guess since we saw Barry tell Bruce that she’s the key, we’re watching the timeline where Superman doesn’t kill everyone, but that would’ve been a cool thing to highlight or mention.

Its obvious the CG wasn't finished from the reshoots. The movie has been all re done. It was 3 hours and to make the movie make sense at 2 hours the reshoots killed this movie

This iteration of batman was so bad. He starts calling Alfred in front of a criminal like if its nothing then he just leaves him there. He exposes his identity to every one and the "well something's bleeding " line was the worst line in the whole movie

If you guys don't remember which scene he talks about with the weird cut, it's the Sewer scene. I had the same thought, like wtf happened? lol

They couldn't even shoot people standing around on a roof talking without doing it in front of a greenscreen and overly blurred backdrops instead on an actual roof. Some of these scenes look like friggin' Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (fun movie, but not what i want in my grade A blockbusters),.

My inner chubby kid began smiling from Wonder Woman's speedy bullet blocking scene to Flash and Sup's super-mega-race. Just look away from the tomatoes. Its a fun movie.

Danny Elfman's score is great. He brings back his Batman theme, Williams' Superman theme, Zimmer's Wonder Woman theme, and yes he does bring back Zimmer's Man of Steel theme (you hear it start after the doors open on the Kryptonian ship). :D

Nice review, you managed to make some interesting and original points that I haven't heard from other critics, and you kept it light hearted too. Your review convinces me to give it a watch despite expected disappointment.

I was discussing this movie on my channel and I've heard many similar things about it. Apparently they cut out a ton of scenes to move things along and some said the CGI looked bad. There was also endless complaining about the Superman mustache. It's like they took the Suicide Squad approach to changing things around. I don't mind dark, but it has to be done the right way. The Dark Knight Trilogy did it right. Many didn't like the Man of Steel approach to darkness. It's all about style. So what part of the movie did you enjoy the most?

I like dark movies

I say we go with the aquaman theme. Rob Trujillo on as aquaman, Hetfield as superman, jason neusted as cyborg, mustaine as the flash and ....hammet as wonder woman.

It’s ironic. WB wanted a shorter runtime to either save money on visual effects, or make more money. But because of the editing required to get it down to 2 hours, WB end up with a poorly reviewed movie yet again. When are WBs going to get the hint and let people who know how to make movies, make the damn movie?

If you walk into the theater expecting to dislike this film, JL will not let you down. The CGI looks like Forest Gump. However, if you walk into the theater wanting to like the movie, JL will give you plenty of reasons to absolutely LOVE it.

The movie is good but, like you said, i don't like this WB politics of cutting movies and release it for home video 5 months later with 30 minutes more added. (And i hate the fact DC Extended Editions come only in blu-ray and 4K. For people like me who prefer watch movies on laptop computer wearing headphones, DVD is still the favourite choice. Laptops are still sold with integrated DVD players, not blu-ray players). Speaking for the soundtrack, thank goodness they bring back Danny Elfman providing some orchestral music and old memorable Bat-themes and Supes-theme. I like alot The Dark Knight, but i always felt the Zimmer soundtrack is lacking epicness. John, if you haven't seen it, watch the Bat-pod scene with Elfman music. Justice League is life. I personally loved the film. IK it had flaws but IDC honestly, I had a ton of fun with it and thought the team chemistry was amazing. My favorite scene was when the Flash was running behind Superman and Clark sees Barry, Barry's face was so damn funny. Such a badass film.

I love Batfleck, my favorite Batman. But Whedon giving him constant quips threw me off more than his man slaughtering in BvS. I love his BvS portrayal, just make him less murderous and that would be perfect. My major complain however is the studio behind it, WB, they are constantly cutting the films more than they should.

I liked the movie but it has a lot of issues. I want to see a Zack Snyder only Ultimate Edition because this wasn't his movie. Btw am I the only one that didn't like the jokes? Some were okay but others felt forced and out of character. Specially Batman's.

Dunno, opening weekend income might have also to do with Thor: Ragnarok coming out just before JL. Also, from a business owner (in Europe, might be different elsewhere) point of view, people on monthly salaries get paid on 25th of the month. It is vehemently visible in sales here, if you had released one week later, there would have been many more people with the available cash on hand. Just some thoughts i had on this topic ;)
