I’m quite impressed at the way and manner judgment was served. It’s obvious everyone needs help. When trees fall on a tree, the topmost is removed first. The single needs help before the landlord, bcos if she’s thrown out and something terrible happened to her or children, the amount owed can’t buy life……is there means of contact, in form of raising funds for such situations? Maybe through the court ? I’m so appreciative of the way Judge Funmi handle judgment, I pray strength, wisdom, knowledge and understanding upon her IJN

N10,000 per month as a salary. That's absurd. She should fry akara or some other food, i bet you she will make much more than that. Domestic house keeping in Lagos or cooking for others can fetch several times more than that. Plus some of those positions come with accommodation. Go and sign up with an agent for Domestic work. Pays start from N40k up to N100k with meals and accommodation.

When I first heard the voice I thought the case is between a man and the landlady. Her story is very much sorry, a similar story is everywhere. In my country, these are most of the case in court. Husband or wife abandoning their wife or husband and children to suffer. Let God help the poor woman.

It's really difficult for people to change apartment in Lagos because of the agreement and commission charged by agents. So many people are forced to stay put in the former house. Lagos state should also help to work on 2 years initial rent charged by landlords so as to make things easy for all.

Greetings. I am not sure about the determination of the amount owing. I think I heard the landlord saying that the annual rent is $150K and the tenant is owing $250K. That does not compute. Finally, the judgement was for $350K. I must have missed something.

Not sure about the husband whereabouts is very painful for the wife. The wife should contact the husband family members to do some inquiries he may had died in Libya 🇱🇾 or the the desert trying to cross over

Judge Funmi is a great judge. She has a lot of empathy. The defendant can actually get a more rewarding job but it appears she is beclouded by her challenges. She should please look beyond her problems and look for a job in a company where she can earn more money. Good days are ahead of her.

Judge Funmi's advise was spot-on. The defendant should have moved out when the rent was due, with the knowledge that her salary can't cover the rent.

Who knows if the husband is still alive?. Because it's not possible for a man not to call his wife just to tell her that he have arrived there safely?

Family, friends? Women stop relying on a man for money. She can move to one room for very low rate within her pay and pay off the debt. Even if she doesn't have to pay the debt, she still cannot live there on such a low wage.
