Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and U.S. President Barack Obama wrapped up their talks a bit early today, emerging from the White House to tell reporters that Obama has been invited to address Canada's Parliament later this year.

Clawz Dayz The only anglophone children who get to go to french immersion schools live in urban areas. Poor english kids in the country are at a severe disadvantage. The french english people learn in school is NOT the french spoken by the canadian gov't. That is a Quebec "Patois" as you were. It doesn't sound a damn thing like what a European would call French. English people are taught french french. I am bilingual actually if you must know but it is French french and it will NEVER be good enough to get a Canadian gov't job. you should live here and try to look for work before you judge a situation you are not familiar with. Do honestly think a country governed by a small ethnic minority could possibly be democratic? Canada is not a true democracy.

i AM DISAPPOINTED that the reporters cannot seem to honor the fact that this press conference is not about the current election nor is it about the senate appointment. this meeting and press conference is about an historic meeting of two important leaders of north American countries, one that is long overdue. somewhat akin to a family washing dirty laundry in the presence of an honored guest. Come on, folks, focus on the discussion and ask pertinent questions.

I know it's asking a lot... but it would be great if CBC could post two versions of these videos. One without the French dubbing. It's very frustrating for bilingual people to listen to awkward on the fly translators. They always miss tons of details and nuance, and sometimes they miss entire sentences.

If they want to make a major cut in pollution, all they need to do is make all cargo/container ships run on a Nuclear reactor, like the war/battle ships do.. Because as it is now, just one of the world's largest container ships can emit about as much pollution as 50 million cars!! And I know some people flip at the thought of Nuclear reactors, but we already have uranium, so why not put it to good use! When just a cup full can run one of the worlds largest cargo ships around the globe at least 30 times, and it don't let off any emissions! So when just 15 of the ships of today lets off more pollution than ALL the cars in the world, and there's thousands of those ships running every day, i'd say start with fixing the ships and that will cut the worlds emissions by at least 2/3rds.. And it would cut the use of hundreds of millions of gallons of fuel usage every year.. Some of our military ships, like the aircraft carriers are run off Nuclear Reactors, and can stay out for about 20 years without coming in to reload the reactor.. Just a thought.. lol..

French Immersion is also what you call "Canadian". A lot of Canadians are French speaking citizens. It is not the majority population however they are never just looked at minorities.

I'm proud of my country, my democracy and I expect a lot of my leaders and yes there is much work to be done but I think anyone who serves as Prime Minister deserves my respect. I have watched the American Presidential debates and I do not think that Donald Trump is an exceptional debater all I have ever heard him say is hateful, belittling, disrespectful and sexist. I do believe people can change and grow. And I honestly hope that Trump surprises me. But as it stands I don't think he's capable of a debate because he would spend the entire time 'debating' talking about himself.
