Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Read more at www.brainyquote.com/authors/alexandria-ocasio-cortez-quotes I believe that every American should have stable, dignified housing; health care; education - that the most very basic needs to sustain modern life should be guaranteed in a moral society. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Read more at www.brainyquote.com/authors/alexandria-ocasio-cortez-quotes We have a political culture of intimidation, of favoring, of patronage, and of fear, and that is no way for a community to be governed. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Read more at www.brainyquote.com/authors/alexandria-ocasio-cortez-quotes Sounds pretty well spoken to me and these are just little quotes and there’s many more of them. If you watch the original footage, you can see him pause just before says, "speaking moistly". There is a look of desperation bordering on existential terror in his eyes. You can see his gears are grinding as he frantically searches his internal lexicon for some other word, ANY other word that would be fit for purpose, other than the one at the front of his mind. He's started a sentence. He needs to finish it. Come on! COME ON!!!! Anything but MOISTLY!! And maybe, just maybe, if that hideous word hadn't been the first to occur to him, he wouldn't have become trapped in the visceral, intestine-twisting, ball-shrivelling moment of absolute and abject physical revulsion and panic that word conjures. But there it was, writ large across his entire brain. "Moistly". From the moment that word asserted itself in his psyche, he was doomed. DOOMED. It was either say that word, that unpalatable, nauseating word, or smash his microphone into shards and commit seppuku in front of the nation's news media. Half a second before he utters it, you can see his moment of realization, when terror turns into the nightmarish rictus of a man who realizes there are things worse than death. There is no other word. Moistly is standing like a pustulant beast in a doorway, blocking his access to any other, less gross words. It has planted its fetid and festering rump and is oozing its moist secretions on his internal dictionary and it will brook no dissent. It is as unforgiving as disease and death. In that moment he knows it's coming out! Moistly! He can't stop it! It has a mind of its own, and he is at its mercy! And then he says it. And it wasn't the end of the world. But it was still funny as fuck.
