The strap down brackets are for your divider to keep it with the fridge

I used the two tie down points for lashing straps and made sure my fridge doesn’t move around when I’m on overland trails. When I stop I can quickly take off the straps.

Love this fridge! Have had it on several trips now and love the performance. Much less power hungry than our ARB especially in hot weather. The app needs a bit of work, but it is nice to have an app. Also like the front and rear power ports as well.

Strapping an external power source to power the fridge to the lid sounds like a good use of those anchors.

Got the dometic CFX3 55IM and I love it. Perfect size, native app, keeps stuff cold and it’s pretty rugged.

Awesome man. Looks super well made. Never owned a front access but it looks easy to get into from the Decked system.

I think the tiedowns are for those extremely bumpy trails so you can just secure it to the bed? not sure

It’s a good looking fridge. You pointed out some really good points. I have the CFX3 75 DZ already. I’m looking for one for my Wife’s camp setup. Thank you for your honest opinion.

Tie downs could be for tying stuff down while it's on the car and taking it down to the creek or something. That's all I can think of

Thanks for the honest review Justin. You just saved me lots of money. Do you have a video review of the Dometic?

I'm thinking the tie downs are maybe to strap the fridge down to the vehicle. Just a guess, having not ever seen it. However, I own a VL60ProS fridge, although just a single zone (wife's choice, no ice cream for me!). I like it quite a bit, with the only downside for me is the counterintuitive latch handle. I still don't understand why they designed it so you need to push down to lift up. Used to it now, but it's just weird. It drains my Anker battery a bit faster that I'd like, although it has been pretty warm here in So Cal, but I do have the 'insulating' cover. Not sure how much that helps actually, but it does protect it from dents and scratches. Mine is stored in the back seat area in my Gladiator, on top of the Goose Gear seat delete kit, and I've got it secured via heavy EPDM straps, which have worked very well so far. No fridge slide on this one. Weird, though, we seem to be thinking along the same lines. I have the Decked drawer system, Anker 757 power supply (and a smaller Anker 535 as well), Rock Slide steps (my wife is 5'0" and not very mobile), Teraflex shocks & stabilizer, but I'm on tiny 35s. And it's a diesel, of course, the best engine ever for the JT. Anyway, long post, but thanks for doing what you do!

You’re so right on the ice comment for the reason to drive home the opinion that an electric cooler really does “change the game”. One weekend with mine and I can’t imagine not having one for *any* trip.

Love this fridge, but like yours it did get a dent on the first trip... but like my Jeep it's just character. I found this fridge to be very efficient. I found that the temp settings even around 37 I still had a few items freeze.. But like anything... lessons learned.

Your review follows my experience with my APL55. The app should have been labeled Iceco, not Car Fridge. Also, one thing I’ve found is the rubber dust covers for the power ports don’t seem to want to stay closed flat after they have been open for an extended time. They will likely relax after time, but initially they don’t like to seal flat. Otherwise, the primary function as a fridge has worked well.

Hello Sir, what fridge slide did you use for this test/demo?

I would say that the tie down points are designed to be able to strap the divider to the lid so that you don't lose it when using the fridge in single-zone configuration?

Now that is the smartest answer yet! I like that.

The answer to your question is “no”. An $860 fridge is not for the masses.
