Learn the patterns by root notes. Not just a pattern. Learn your intervals guys. You can slowly start adding in flat 5. Major 3. Etc. and you will know exactly where all your notes are. Take it slowly guys. Have fun.

Very excited for this course I’ve been playing for many years, So I am very excited to really lock in my blues chops. There is a great blues revival in Winnipeg and I can’t wait to be part of it.

Hi Justin, after watching this video in its entirety, I do have a question? "How blue can you get?" I've been playing electric guitar pushing about 4 years now, that's 4 years and change. My dad started me on your 5 blues licks per pattern just as soon as I could play the Minor Pentatonic pattern 1 with straight down picks and stay in time, we dived right in. Needless to say, it was tough, I fought it tooth and nail, but my dear sweet dad would sit, watch, listen, and ask me to demonstrate my progress, where upon if looks could kill my sweet papa would be no more. But my dad would fall back on "Guitar George" of sultans of swing fame, and ask was I to be strictly rhythm, or did I want to make the guitar cry and sing. --Actually, I wanted to quit lol-- I had my fireside chords down, and besides I had the piano and what decent human being could ask for more than that. Dad could, ask for more than that and he did, and he was relentless. Anyway, today I can't thank him enough for seeing me through much of the beginning wilderness on guitar and thank you Mr. Justin for those blues licks, I think of the licks as "standing on the shoulders of giants". It's almost impossible to listen to blues, and rock for that matter, without hearing those licks bubbling up out of the solos in one form of another.

On some of the licks you are playing that involve notes outside of the minor pentatonic, it seems you are blending the major and minor pentatonic scales?

Not sure what everyone else is hearing, but at my end, sound is not synched at all. Neither voice or guitar. Very distracting delay for learning purposes.

It’s happening on a lot of KZfaq channels because KZfaq changed something that effected many videos 😳
