Please don’t laugh, but this element that appealed to me enough to learn to play guitar, well, I did not even know what to call it. This tutorial is the MOST IMPORTANT nugget I have ever come upon online. My brother-in-law beautifully uses this technique & he just experimented with it over 50 yrs of playing until he filled his musical toolbox, & for 37 years I too seek the inter-chord notes by trial & error until it sounds right to me. This tutorial will escalate my playing immeasurably. Thank you!

I’m not laughing my friend, I’ve been a user, (donating) of Justin’s fee web site for years. You might also want to check out his app if you want a more structured approach, it’s excellent, but it’s not free. By the way I’m not affiliated with Justin in any way, just a long time fan & student. This stuff is the very best out there, so I’m glad you found it. Hi from Brisbane. 🇦🇺🎸🎼

This video was therapeutic. 99% of instructional guitar videos are littered with people more concerned about selling their classes than actually teaching you something wholesome enough to expand with. This guy gives off major genuineness vibes

What's amazing to me about learning any type of music is that after 20+ years of study it's possible to have holes in the basic rudiments. While I've always been aware of this particular idea I never really "got it". But Justin, you made it so clear and easy to incorporate.

This is how I grew up playing gitty. I learned 'em by ear and many years. Heck I actually never thought much about what notes they are, just learned to hit 'em. It's great going back and learning it proper. This will be fun.

So the 'trick' basically consists of finding 2 notes that are shared by, say, C and G major scales?

"Sometimes you gonna go 'Wow, that was amazing!', other times you go 'Meeh'. And when you go 'Meeh' you just dont do it again. And when you go 'Oh that was amazing' maybe make a note of it somewhere". Sounds like a great life advice as well. I mean, if this guitar thing wont work out for you, might wanna switch to life coaching, just sayin' :P Thanks for the video, love recent uploads

You're just finding some notes that usually sit between the lowest root note of two chords and you play them in a way that sounds good as part of your transition from one chord to the other. Don't over think it at this stage. If you want a little guidance, learn the C major scale and play chords in the key of C = C, Dm, Em, F, G, Am. How come it is supposed to be just playing two bass notes between chord changes, when in some instances it seems like he is playing more than 2 bass notes between chord changes? It's a bit confusing to me.
@justinguitar
@justinguitar Жыл бұрын
You might hear it as 3 notes instead of 2 notes in that video because he plays 2 notes in between and than a single root note of the chord before strumming that chord. Chord . let go of chord. play note . play note . form chord . play only low root note of chord . play chole chord. | LievenDV | JustinGuitar Official Guide, Approved Teacher & Community Moderator
