Great job with the bed! One thought i had for someone else attempthing this build: @ 3:47 when you were worried about lining the hinges up correctly, you could have actually drilled those holes before assembling the frame. Take the two end boards, gang them together and drill the holes completely through both boards at once like you did when you were lining up the holes for the nightstand. That way you have exactly the same positioning without having to measure at all. As Chris Schwarz said on the Woodwright's Shop "Measurement is the enemy of accuracy..."

Thank you for making this video. A large effort and you nailed it. I'm inspired to use a design similar to this in a motorhome we plan to buy and live in. Will probably have it designed and built by a carpenter shop or motorhome refitter but your video is a great concept piece to start from as well as a jump start for the carpenter we get to do it. All the best.

Have to admit you did a great job and did it without any expensive tools and made it on a budget. The only thing I would do different is to put 2 supports or a longer piece to support the side that you cut that falls off. This prevents the wood cutoff piece from scarring when it falls off so you can save for another project possibly. Love the blooper clips. I usually measure 3 times and cut once. lol Other than that nice job!

Nice job yes it is exciting when drawers work. I share those same feelings. On a safety note most accidents happen when cutting on the ground. Thanks for the vid

Lol... I had just watched Glenn's build on my pc before dinner. I wanted to show my wife, so I went to look it up on my phone so I could cast it to our TV downstairs. I came across yours instead. I think between your video and Glenn's, I should have enough info to attempt this project. We've been wanting to do a murphy bed for some time, and I think these two videos are the best I've seen, and I've been looking around quite a bit!

How did you guys accommodate for the baseboard molding since it would place the bed away from the wall by the thickness of the baseboard? I have an issue with my ceiling height not being 8 foot ceilings. Mine are just over 7 feet.

Very nice! It was good to see a whole project using pocket screws. I’ve not yet made the investment in the jigs, though I have watched several of the Kreg videos. I was taught old-school methods by my dad and spent a lot of time doing dowel joinery. I do have a small biscuit joiner, but haven’t used it much. It just doesn’t seem as sturdy as dowelled and glued construction.

Great job and it is so much cheaper than buying the bed or kit which starts at about $1,500 on up to $3,000 or more if you buy the best, a lot of the cheap ones are just that they crack easy and come apart and are made from the cheapest materials.
