Outside of my price bracket, but I'm impressed by how thoughtful the design is. That dial is beautiful, the rotating inner bezel is a nice touch, and it looks like they lumed the hell out of it. Even the bracelet looks great.

Extremely solid offering for the price, if one likes the compressor style. Really impressed by that brand, I'll definitely keep an eye on their future watch designs.

It's a good looking piece. I'm glad they decided to remove a lot of the text on the dial though. I'm still waiting for my Mandala to come. That really is a beautiful piece.

I was all set to pony up for the blue until you made the point about the minute markers. And you’re right! As well as not having a quick adjustment for the clasp. Funny how we have all become more discerning customers as time goes on and we have reviewers like you to thank for it. Great review and fair criticism on the minute markers, I noticed that during the review, too. Vero’s dive watch doesn’t have minute markers on the dial either. Unique design choices but I do like to know the hour and minute from my watch.

Damn, I have never been a fan of micro brands but this watch is on another level.

42 x 46 with solid endlinks, link screws, compressor style, rotating inner bezel, turned down lugs, 200m, 4 micro adjust, sellita, 1200v hardness... its a winner for me. I'd prefer double AR coating personally. Very nice though.

I don´t call it a brand. I wonder if anyone recognizes this !?!?! I must admit that I never owned one but I once was co-driver in a AC Shelby 427 and I will never forget this ride and that bottom end torque...........just amazing.

Too bad they didn’t extend the minute and second hands do not reach the inner bezel. It is too hard to measure time accurately with that set up. Good looking watch.

I like the novelty of an internal bezel, but the practicality of such a device seems to be secondary to style. The Gin Clear was a beautiful watch, with a coherent and original dial design, and marvelous practicality. The Mandala is stunning for so many reasons, be they colours, the dial mandala, the textural layers. This, however, is a nice watch that seems to have lost its way, and it's purpose. The white dial shows the intricacies off nicely, but it still feels like it's over compensating.

When are we gonna see a gin clear mk2 review!?

Looks really good I'm not sure I can stretch to one at moment but would definitely have one with those measurements when I have sold some of my collection to fund it

A lot of these compressor style watches coming out recently. I really like them and picked up a Spinnaker Bradner a few weeks back. Currently looking at getting a Christopher Ward C65 super compressor as well.

My only nitpick is the staid combat green. Many if not most men watches use a drab form of green. But otherwise I really like this watch.

This looks great! A wonderful more modern style of the "super-compressor" aesthetic.

I'll say it up-front... I don't think this watch gels with itself, let alone with me. I think it's a perfect example of design forgetting what its purpose is. The design choices seem to have been made by six different people. None of the features fit together. Forgoing (or forgetting?) the minute markers on the dial is a perfect example of this. Such an unusual choice for a dive-style watch. And where the inner rotating bezel is a conscious decision and prominent feature, for it not to be 100% practical is like designing a boat with wheels. The dial is overly complex, almost for complexity's sake. There's too much going on, and it just looks a mess to me. Nothing is working together. You've got elegant dial patterns paired with in-your-face red-tipped sword hands. The central pattern clashes with the rings between the markers. Even the brand logo clashes with the design of the dial. Finish it off with an unspectacular case and bracelet, and there really isn't much more to be said. You can slap all the specs and features you want into a watch, but don't forget that they have to work together for the design to make sense.

I purchased a Mandala from the Kickstarter campaign it still has not arrived. They have had trouble with QC on the bracelet. Second Hour have been very honest and good with updates on the situation but it's worth being mindful of.

Would like to get one to support the Aussie battlers, but I’m afraid there’s just too much going on in that dial for my liking. Every time I go to look at the time I would get dizzy 😣

That triangle on the one crown is very (maybe too) reminiscent of the Alpina logo. Is it an ISO Certified diver? If not, it should have been. They're really pushing it as a diver watch. Not a bad looking watch. I love a good H-link bracelet. A bit more personality/styling on the case would have been nice.

Red one for me, the red tipped hands seem to match the red on the watch although not too keen on the hands on the blue and grey versions, other than that not a bad watch 👍

Hey Jody seeing the watch travel case (I do have a leather one that holds two watches) made me think that doing (maybe closer to next year when things open up a bit more) a video on numbers of watches to take, types and styles that would make a great travel selection. Maybe offer 3-5 different options in different price brackets (i.e. we are making plans to go to Europe next year from the U.S. for three weeks). I know you do videos of watches you take on vacations with you but one video with multiple options for us would be great. Thanks mate 👍

Love the look, however I would be happy to remove the hardness coating, drop the water resist to 100m, and reduce the price. Just above my budget atm, maybe this is why I am wishing for ways it could have been cheaper. Great review - looking forward to the next!

I have to agree with you Jodi, minute markers on the dial really are a must. However I am very impressed with the short lug to Lug for me that Dimension really determines if I can wear the watch or not . Still a very nice watch but way out of my price range. By the way I love the T-shirt.

Hello Jody, where is the best place to buy a leather watch strap.

I think these compressor style watches only work when the rotating bezel is a different/ darker colour than the dial. As it is, it just looks huge.

One other mention about the dial, ya a diver style watch not a true diver, but if anyone wants to use it as a diver, and does anyone diving not use a dive computer watch these days anyways? The inner bezel needs the bezel crown unscrewed to use it and if you want to adjust it you had better not be under water. I am not a diver either and someone correct me if I am wrong but do you not adjust the bezel to time your time at the bottom, then again when one ascents?

Combining a smart educated dude + a watch geek= criticism of the isosceles triangle! Good stuff Jody! "Sacred geometry!" I had to play that part back! Jody is a legend. However, it's a valid criticism. The fit and finish looks good, but I liked their last release quite a bit better.

A sellita in a compressor style watch for about 700usd? This is actually a pretty decent value proposition. Quality looks very nice and it's looking well designed and put together. It's got some polarizing design choices but I'm certainly intrigued by it. It may very well make its way into my collection...

What is the first colour to vanish as you go deeper into the water?Yes it's red,which will make those hands very short.As Jody said,most people will desk dive with it but if you dive this may not be ideal.............................................

These guys are making some great looking watches. That red and white dial is sharp. Maybe a bit too “Swiss Army” with the cross in the logo, but it looks great.

You can't adjust the bezel under water

This seems to be the new bracelet of choice ...same as the Mitch Mason....I would still like to see some information on what parts of these watches are actually designed....and what parts are picked from catalogues and put together... I don't know why it bothers me but it does....the only micro brands I see with any real different designs would be Christopher Ward,Zelos and Halios...I say that because CW has its light catcher case and new plastic dials...Zelos has a miriad of special dials and a brand identity....and Halios really is the King of good looking functional watches now with an on the fly adjustable bracelet I've never seen before... This is a nice watch ...but nothing new appart from a omega seamaster knock off dial

For me it has to be the blue, which is reminiscent of ‘waves’ in the water divers will see before taking the ‘giant stride!’ Plus I just like blue watches. I agree the red and white one is nice, but it looks cheaper to my ‘refined’ eye. Second choice would be the grey. I agree with you about the no date option. I prefer a no date as it’s one less thing to set. Great review as always Jodie. 😎

I just love watches with 42 mm dial and 46 mm L2L, don't know why more companies don't follow those dimensions. I think it is solid offering for the price and another great review by Jody. Keep it up mate and regards from Croatia.

A no-date version would be nice, as u mentioned... The price is one thing, adding taxes its beyond my pricerange. Though i like the style of second hour watches a lot. And got a no-date mandala 😄

The new Direnzo Solaris was announced overnight (Aussie time)... now THAT is a dual-crown dive watch that looks HOT! I just know it'll be showing up on the channel at some stage. Hope I can snag one when they're released 🤞

Great review. Do like this watch, it has its own design which is refreshing. Case finishing could be better in my opinion but luming the crowns is a master stroke! My daughter was only learning the giant stride as swimming lesson only last night! I have Phoibos coming for review myself now. Exiting.

Nice piece. The dial is very stylish but it's a shame about the minute markers. Overall I think it's good but a tad high in price, given that you can get a custom made Chinese watch with an ETA 2824 (or SW200) for £300, which also has excellent finishing. I know that's not much different after currency conversion. Yes this has a fancy dial. Nice to see another one in this enclosed bezel style. Great vid, thanks.
