They should do non-hommages more often- they clearly know how to make a decent watch!
@watch_a_mod3542 жыл бұрын
It just doesnt sell that well.... With each hommage they can lure in NEW customers while satisfying the rolex addicted old customers with yet another model for the watch box. The big problem would be to pull off a design that would be more lovde than a hommage .thats not an easy task. Imagine you can ruin your buisness with just one really bad own design .You might just stick to the hommages after all

@@watch_a_mod354 I understand that. Huge fan of the channel here, I have the gmt version for five years now and it’s a solid watch, no problems with the clasp and it shouldn’t be a problem because contrary to what the majority o people think titanium is harder and stronger than stainless steel, the “scratches” you see on a titanium watch the majority are on the oxide film that titanium develops to protect it. Just rubbing it with a pencil eraser ✏️ you got rid of it. As I said I have one for five years now and it’s an amazing watch for the money!

I own a Steinhart Ocean One Black Ceramic that I love, but have for years been eyeing this one. I LOVE the look of this and think it's almost the perfect watch. The only thing I'd prefer is a stainless steel version (and have emailed Steinhart several times stating my desire. So far to no avail). I personally am not a fan of Titanium. I think it feels too light and therefor cheap (to me) and don't like how susceptible it is to scratching. I don't mind (dare I say, even prefer) a heavy watch. If Steinhart ever release this in a SS version I'll buy it that day! Thanks for another great review Jodi!

I think this one's discontinued. Along with the similarly styled 39mm stainless steel Batman-GMT they used to have. Only model left is the 42mm Ti GMT with the same handset and basic look. I still wish I could loan you my 39mm OVM ... would love to see you review that thing. Alas... postage from Germany to Australia and back would probably exceed the value of the watch .. :D Glad to see Jody warming up to the brand - although I do completely agree about the case-shape for us guys with smaller wrists than Jody's. I have a 17 cm one (6.7in) and none of the 42mm versions I've owned or tried really looked right on me. The 39mm still has that insanely flat case-profile, but with the smaller size it doesn't really matter all that much. The 39 O1s probably don't sit as snugly on wrist as more contoured watches of the same size, but they're perfectly comfortable to wear.

Thanks for the video. As usual, the main concern with titanium watches for me is whether all metal surfaces were coated with some scratch-resistance assuring coating. Nice watch , no doubt about that. The 42 (not sure whether Gnomon has a 39mm) is quite long. Despite the female end links, needs a min 7.25". I heard their titanium is quite sensitive/soft and prone to scratches/marks. Personally I see Steinhart Ocean One quite different from Sub. Very different case geometry, very different crown guards and crown. The l2l is way different as well. Unless we are talking the first Subs, nothing is at 39mm and definitely there ain't no sub or sea dweller at 42. Quite well builds, reliable mechanisms, affordable pricing and prompt customer service. Why not, a must imo for every watch enthousiast. Edit: I agree 100% for the clasp, not just for the 500 but for all Ocean One that have a 300m rating.

I wish more companies would use higher grades of Titanium; higher grades are more resistant to scratches and can hold a bit of polish if so desired.
