Hey Heather, I hope you see this message - I just made pasta tonight! Just wanted to let you know that you’re supposed to wait till the water is boiling before cooking your pasta and it will turn out much better. And try not to break the noodles in half, it allows for a better bite because it will hold more sauce 😊

I make extra too. I melt butter and add some olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, parm cheese, black pepper, salt..fresh garlic too in a saucepan and if I have some parsley, and oregano...pour over hot drained cooked spaghetti...my family loves it! It's great with sauce over it or as is. I freeze it too. An other huge timesaver for me too is frozen chopped onion in the veggie section. I use it for meatloaf too.

Use chicken broth! It gives it an all day taste. After i pour the tomato sauce into the pot I actually pour the chicken broth into my tomato sauce jars - put the caps on and shake to “rinse” them out! Pour the chicken broth into the sauce. Sometimes I do that with wine too. Using red wine gives the sauce a wick flavor and adds natural sugars.
@cynthiastauffer80122 жыл бұрын
That is a great idea!!
@makeuplover68522 жыл бұрын
I also add about 1/4 C sugar, for a really large stock pot, most chefs add sugar to pretty much anything that has a tomatoe paste to cut the acidity. It doesn't really make the sauce sweet as it's a small amount in a ration perspective but it really makes the sauce smoother if you will, with less "bite" from the acid in the tomatoes :) I add mashed /puree sweet potato, a handful of minced spinach, minced carrots, sweet red peppers, mushrooms - the veggies help boost the veg content of the meal and most kids don't even know any of those things are in there as I mince them very fine. I make my sauce in the big pot on the stove but once I have it all together I transfer to a slow cooker then let it cook on low for 8 hours...then you develop those deep rich flavours that you get at a restaurant... so delicious!

@makeuplover68522 жыл бұрын
You can also put it (if it's wrapped in plastic wrap or a baggie) into a sink full of cold water, the cold water helps to begin to draw the frost out of the meat, once I have a little bit thawed of the ground beef I just throw it in my pan, it will cook on one side, flip it, scrap off what has become loosened/ began to cook, just keep repeating this process, flip the big chunk of meat, scrap off what has started to cook, flip again. This is the fastest method to brown ground beef that is still frozen, much faster than defrosting in the microwave. But you do have to stand and tend the beef so it doesn't sit on one side too long. The meat chopper like she used is awesome, I got mine off Amazon!

No, you are doing it properly... however...a fed family...is a happy family :) if they like their pasta made this way..then all the power to this Mumma to make her pasta anyway she wants :) I have one child ...ONE ...and dang if some nights after making my dinner, his, his Dad's (yup, we all usually eat different meals- we all have various health issues that make this a necessity, I don't really mind)...but some nights it's all I have in me is a grill cheese, chicken soup broth ( I try to make my own and free in 1 cup dishes) and a few baked low fat, low salt chips and a homemade gf cookie..dats it...sometimes that all she wrote over here so I stand in judgement of no Momma, ever. Most especially one who has 8 children who, to me...all look well fed, happy and healthy! But...the directions on any pasta will say to bring your water to a boil, then add pasta and each type of pasta will take different cook times- almost always this will be indicated on the side of the box. Some people like to salt their water, I don't. We try to use as little salt as possible in our cooking, and my son like to have fresh hymilian pink salt fresh cracked on his 8 noodles , lol. He is just getting into noodles, so he literally puts on macaroni noodle on his spoon with his sauce, it's quite funny to see :)

You also don’t overly over share your children’s lives or not that I’ve seen. I can’t stand to see that on others channels. Their stories are for them to share if they choose to do so. The internet is also forever & I think a lot of others forget or just don’t care about that. Please stay authentic & don’t do things just so your channel grows faster.
