Special thanks to Vario for giving me these straps to review. These straps are completely unique and some of the best I've found under $40. If you're interested in purchasing them, head over to Vario's website. Below you will also find links to the watches shown in this video:

My ‘watch’ budget has now become a ‘strap’ budget....Gonna have to stick with the ridiculous amount of watches that I already have for some time to come. That’s okay though I’m gonna dress them up with a robust strap collection! Thanks for this review I’ll be visiting their website and making a couple of purchases!

Hi Dave, great video as always... I am looking at buying my first watch (around $150 to $180) and wondering what are your recommendations. Been looking at some Seikos but cant make up my mind. Thanks in advance for your reply and more power to your channel.

Depends on your wants/needs. Movement, occasion, size, etc. My advice is keep watching videos, read forums, and search online until you've seen a ton of different watches. When you find one that you like, keep looking. When you find one that you love, bookmark it. Since it's your first watch, I think you'll have to buy a few and gain real-life experience with watches before you figure out what you actually want. Things like weight, size, how it looks on wrist vs on screen must be learned the hard way. When you're ready to buy, make sure it's because you love it!

Oh, first watch, that's exciting. To make that decision you need to consider what sort of watch you'd be wearing most of the time. If you're in a professional environment where you need to wear a suit daily, you probably want a dress watch, but otherwise I'd recommend something more durable like a dive watch or field watch, depending on your style. In your price range, Orient and Seiko are the two brands I'd be looking at first. To get an overview of some good options in your price range, go check out my Watch of the Month Club playlist, where I run through the best watches under $200 in different categories. For dress watches, I'd be looking at the Orient Bambino line, or the Seiko 5s, depending on your wrist size (the Seiko 5 dress watches tend to run small). For something more durable like a dive watch, I'd check out the Orient Ray 2 or Mako 2, which seems to have dropped in price due to the recent release of their newer divers, the Kamasu and Kano. I'd also check out the Seiko SNZH53/55. For field watches your best choice I think is either the Orient Defender or the Seiko SNZG series (I like the SNZG17 the best because it has lumed numerals instead of just the hour markers). Hope that helps!

Also, in addition to the above, if you prefer a quartz watch, I'd recommend looking at a Citizen Eco Drive. They have a diver, and a number of field watches, chronographs, dress watches and dress watches all in your price range.

They look too short for my 7-3/4 inch wrist... it’s a shame, unless they have a choice if length. I will check them out. Thx

I have a 7.5 " wrist if that helps. Probably would just barely fit you.

For $38 need to have solid one piece Buckle , those are Spring Bar ya ?

That comment does not make sense.
@JusttheWatch

The buckle does use a spring bar to attach on all three straps. I think a solid one piece buckle would be an upgrade on the NATO strap where ensuring the security of the watch is the highest priority, but for dressier straps like the Harris Tweed and Italian leather I actually prefer the spring bar buckle as that gives you the option to install a deployant clasp if desired.
