The clearances on these inlays are incredible.. even with a CNC router, the amount of painstaking work that goes into this really is impressive man. . If I didn’t just watch this video and see you make it I would never believe that this was wood… not only is it wood it’s several different species of wood all glued together. Wow, that’s all I can say. My hats off to you my friend, you’ve mastered your craft for sure.

It always makes me mad when I hear somebody say using a CNC isn't woodworking. You don't make something with such high quality by simply using a fancy machine. You make something like this from years and years of practice. Amazing video as always.

You are doing some of the most complex and intriguing CNC work on KZfaq. Probably the world. I continue to be amazed by it. I am a 'traditional wood worker' and want to get a CNC and learn how to do work at this exponentially next level. Thank you for showing the way!

If you'd ever consider posting even a paid tutorial on your V Carve process/settings, I'd be interested. I bought vetric but haven't gotten proficient in it yet, clearly you have this thing down to a science, just putting it out there, you have some knowledge people might be willing to pay to learn.

How long roughly from thought to inception does something like this take? This appears to be an absolute ton of work from file creation, mathematical precision to finished product. That doesnt include if you happen to have a hiccup and have to fix. Love the work

I'm always really surprised at this.. Why dont you use a larger bit to plane off the excess material? I use a 1.5 carbide surfacing bit. Is it because you like to take a deeper depth of cut? You shouldnt have to worry about chip out with a surfacing bit

Nice work, very impressive. Question for you. Is there a reason why you are using what looks like a 1/4”-6mm end mill to remove the inlay?

Do you sometimes get cracks or small gaps in the inlays? And how do you deal with them? I've had a couple inlays crack along weird grain lines or whatever, and have just been packing them with glue and sanding them over. If you know a way to prevent that I'm all ears.

Great piece of art work, but as a cutting board, not good. Why? Because all the different types of wood used, which does not lend itself for the ease of use of a knife. Wood texture play a part in cutting and there are far too many different textures for a blade to contend with. Also who the hell would want to use that board for preparing food because of the symbolism of Satan about to eat a human being. Are you fuquing nuts??? About the best you could use that piece of art for is hanging on the wall as a symbol of your dark heart.
@Demonyaa
@Demonyaa Жыл бұрын
The board is made with end grain. It’s perfect for cutting and will preserve the knifes edge. The motif isn’t Satan, it’s a Djinn. Djinn are neither innately evil nor innately good. And the Djinn about to eat a human is your imagination working, he’s merely holding him. Amazing work by Broinwood!
@benth162
@benth162 Жыл бұрын
@@Demonyaa Sorry but that is not end grain my friend. Calling the design motif a Djinn does not make it any less Satanic. Also Djinn were not known for being altruistic except in fairy tales, as in Disney's Aladin. I used to be a meat cutter years ago and I know what end grain boards look like because I've used them.
