She was dying, she was calling out for Richard. Dr.. Kimball needed a better lawyer

I often wonder, with the power and wealth of Devlin Mcgregor if Kimble's lawyer was in on it as well as a few cops. It's hard to imagine all this evidence slipping through the hands of a lawyer a Surgeon can afford, the detectives also did a sloppy job and seemed to carry a fear of being exposed themselves in the movie.

@@diazinc462He's a vascular surgeon, he didn't need the money, that doesn't even make sense. It was really lazy detective work. One dimensional thinking. That's why when they mentioned it to Tommy Lee's character he looked at them like "That's Stupid" that it was just a lazy easy way of reasoning on a motive.

This movie is based on the 1960s TV series, The Fugitive. The TV series was based on the very real case of Doctor Sam Sheppard, who was accused, tried, and convicted of killing his wife. He claimed his wife was killed by an intruder. He was sentenced to life in prison. After 10 years a young lawyer, F. Lee Bailey took up his appeal. A new trial was granted and Bailey took the prosecution's case apart. Dr. Sheppard was found not guilty in the new trial. Sheppard tried going back to medicine but he had lost his surgical skills. He became an alcoholic and died in the early 1960s. The TV series started right around the time Sheppard died. I'll never forget the last episode of the TV series. It was one of the most watched programs in TV history. The one armed man was caught and Dr. Richard Kimball was exonerated. A happy ending for Richard Kimball. Too bad Dr. Sheppard's ending was so tragic.😢

Before CGI, they had to get the train wreck in one take. So they used 16 cameras including 2 on the train and 1 inside the bus. The wreck is still there in North Carolina and people walk from the highway a little way through the woods to see it.

This movie was not "before CGI". This movie came out a couple months after Jurassic Park, a couple years after T2; CGI was very much around and evolving fast. The choice to do it practical was an obvious one, as CGI would have cost a lot more and looked a lot worse.

Unless its Ben Carson or someone super famous or someone who had investments making him worth hundreds of millions (and especially if he had used some of that to donate to some key people). A random doctor who has maybe saved up a few million? Definitely a higher chance of being found not guilty if the evidence isn't that strong vs a poor person, but the ultimate punishment wouldn't be different, not for murder. If it was fraud or serious assault then he probably has a much higher chance of getting a light punishment due to being a "doctor". Part of it is the legal system sees that making you a plebe is part of the punishment. Guys worth hundreds of millions very rarely are in this position though. We live in an oligarchy.

He was also signing off on the samples before his death, except the last few that Nichols signed for after Lentz died.. I think Lentz may have had a problem with the murder of Richards Wife and that's why they decided to get rid of him or his death was really an accident?? It's still a mystery to me.. Great Reaction!!

There had to have been a _dozen_ less conspicuous vehicles in the lot that he could've stolen, most of which would've taken hours to even be reported _missing._

This is a classic movie that you've reacted to, and I'm so glad you enjoyed and appreciated it. Just to clarify a few things: Dr. Kimble suspected there were problems with Devlin-McGregor's experimental drug, because he noticed liver damage in patients of his who were taking it. To keep him from talking, Nichols' plan was to have Sykes kill Richard and his wife, and make it look like a botched robbery. But because Richard was called in for emergency surgery, Sykes caught Helen at home by herself, and Richard interrupted him by coming home later. Richard being framed for his wife's murder was something that just happened to work out in Nichols' favour. Speaking of which: No, Richard didn't plan his escape during the transfer to prison. That was just lucky for him. As for cutting scenes, a lot of them were cut from the final product. In fact, from what I've read, quite a few of the lines were improvised during filming. The actors really made it work.
@FrancisXLord
@FrancisXLord 2 ай бұрын
It was amusing hearing you speculate that the one-armed man may have been a figment of Kimble's imagination. I doubt many people thought that upon release. When this film was released Richard Kimble, the 'one-armed man' and even Gerard (Philip Gerard not Sam) were still fairly present in pop culture from the very successful TV series that was still being rerun on TV from the 60s. The series would follow Richard Kimble on the run, being chased from episode to episode by Gerard, and solving problems in every town he stopped before moving on.

I thought The Fugitive was one of the best FAST paced action dramas I've ever seen. Surprised you thought it was too long and needed editing down. Every scene was a crucial part of the story. I remember watching this in the theater and captivated throughout the movie. Plus the humor amongst the Marshall and his group kept it interesting. I was disappointed though that you edited out Tommy Lee Jones' iconic lines at the beginning: "Listen up, ladies and gentlemen! Our fugitive has been on the run for ninety minutes. Average foot speed over uneven ground barring injuries is 4 miles per hour and that gives us a radius of... six miles. What I want out of each and every one of you is a hard-target search of every gas station, residence, warehouse, farmhouse, henhouse, outhouse and doghouse in that area. Checkpoints go up at fifteen miles. Your fugitive's name is Doctor Richard Kimble. Go get him." That's the money shot speech!!

Btw... in your outtro, you are so right about big companies doing really corrupt things that can affect people in really bad ways. It's happening in real life in so many ways, and if you do a little investigating, you'll find, sadly, sometimes the people in government are also involved. People like that, once they get power and money, they are very reluctant to let it go and will do all they can to cover their abuse of authority and not allow the public to know their involvement in criminal activity using corporations and government. It's really sad, when they could be doing so much good in their positions, and it causes so many good people in those positions to be distrusted by the public for no reason. One bad apple... right?

Are you gonna watch the sequel? U.S. Marshals? It's pretty cool too, has Wesley Snipes and Robert Downey Jr too as well as Tommy Lee Jones as the main US Marshal

Bit of a tangent with a movie recommendation. I was going to talk about growing up I watched the tv show in the 80s (we only had 4 channels) but saying it was too long. How about a movie you want to be longer...'nobody'

If I lived in Jamaica and Jyn was single and straight and I saw her, I would try to court her and marry her.

@debbyemerson3877 Yes you are right. Dating and marriage is so creepy. What an intelligent thing to say. Thank you for correcting me. I'll never date again since Debby told me it's creepy to want to do things like date and get married.
