It's the odd comedy that is actually making real points about stuff that matters between men and women. That's why I love it - it's light and funny but it also addresses issues.

At the time this movie came out, "Happy Birthday to You" was still copyrighted, so I think substituting it with "If You're Happy and You Know It" was probably the filmmakers' way of getting around having to pay royalties.

The "Hey, Hey, Hey, HEY... MOTHA FACKAAAA!" line, the exact way in which Andy says it/Steve performs it & the way that movement is then done (he goes from a sitting position at the table, then like, so effortlessly like half-shimmies, half-levitates himself up to fully standing eye-level with Jay in this smooth, continuous motion that kinda resembles the limbo😂😂), all of this just so super smooth in a span of just seconds & with that initial loud, slurred greeting (& then followed up by him slumped on Jay's shoulder, talking into his ear & almost gnawing on it at times, lmao👂🏾👅🤣), makes for one of the funniest, weirdest underrated moments in a movie that I think personally I have ever seen.. I would love to know how it was--or even IF it was--written in the script or if not, if it was improvised on the spot by Steve or what.. Bc it makes that ENTIRE scene. I laugh out loud at it EVERY time I see him floating upward on the screen as he "hey hey heys".. Idk how he even MOVES like that tbh, lol.. 😉🤣🤣🤣 Keep killin it, ladies. You two are awesome..❤✌🏻

Not only that, the lady that auditioned for the part to remove the hair lied on her resume that she had experience doing it. So, she had NO IDEA what she was doing.😆 Andy would be considered a good looking guy in the U.S. and wouldn't really have a hard time attracting women. The drunk woman in the car is Leslie Mann, the wife of the director Judd Apatow. I'm 56 years old and the way we used to meet people was exactly the way you said you could not understand. We would just walk up to the girl we were attracted to and asked her out. If she said yes you got her phone number. We did not have cell phones or internet. If you wanted to get to know someone you walked up and talked to them. The world is soooo screwed up right now that people don't know how to socialize anymore. People are nervous to talk to one another mostly because they never do. They text each other all the time. The way you learn to talk to people is face to face so you can see the expressions on their faces. You learn social cues and how to read each others body language. You kids today do know jack shit. Technology has ruined you. You want to live a happy life put the phone down and talk to each other.

As you guessed, the chest-waxing scene was for real. Steve Carell is quite a hairy guy. They hired a real wax technician to do the chest wax; she was not an actress. Her reactions to Steve's reactions were genuine. I don't remember the story of how or why they did it in a smiley face. I also don't remember if they decided that that was enough and it would be funny to stop there, or I think it might have been Steve Carell himself who said, "Nope, I'm not doing any more of this. I'm out." I'd have to look up more of the trivia, but anyone can do that for themselves.
