amerikan movies ALWAYS go out their way to cast the people of Russia, aka the Soviet Union in this case, in the worst possible light. This movie certainly did that and then some. It is important to know, the producers of this film toned DOWN this aspect of their film, after the actual crew read the original script and objected to it on just about every possible ground. Imagine what this film would have looked like in its original draft...... FWIW, I do like this scene, but, even here, the film cant leave its ham-fisted amerikan exceptionalism out of it, and just leave it about the men who served.
