Its ALL about the ability to put the power down. Which is what the SS does very well. A combination of tyre and suspension geometry, tyre type, and other engineering details that make this a very fast car. I'm Australian and I've been dying to get my hands on one of the last cars off the line next year! So very sad to see this vehicle go out of production.

You are right. I use to own a C5 2001 Z06. the window in the back should go straight down and there are no rear brake vents that is not a Z06 and the driver can't drive either!!!!

I don't get it black people come to the drag strip where I live it's only a quarter of a mile from my house but my point is when I have been there there are black people there too besides white people and Chinese people,all different nationality and every body is having fun and having a good time and it's one of the best places to be on a Friday night or Saturday night for some really bad ass drag racing. jjm in Montgomery Alabama Sent classA

Dnt too many ppl kno bout the SS. And like dat one guy said Malibu SS. A lot of ppl that have seen them think they are malibu's. Claiming the SS and Malibu are similar. Thanks for clearing that up brah. It's a holden commodore SS from da land dwn under. But rebadged as Chevy in da US. But they have a version in aussie land that comes with a LSA. '17 will be the last year as GM has axed Holden. Let's hope the '17 model comes with the LSA or new LT4. I just test drove one sat in a manual. But the lot don't have the color I want. I gotta have one cause as the 94-96 impala SS (96 being the best 1) the '14-'17 SS will be a collector. It's already a classic. but for any one that knows Chevy on any SS edition sincce the early 90's knows they only offer them in 1-3 year stints. So I'm sure there will be something special about the '17 SS that sets it apart from previous years. Only thing I dint like about car when I went to the dealer. Was that window sticker said engine assembled in Mexico. Wtf??? And as many reviewers of the car have said DONT get the 6 sp auto!!! Each dealer that orders them can only get 15 of them a year. So if anybody wants one you better get one as soon as it comes off the deliver truck. They are selling like crazy in TX.

+Damian Stevenson Yea, I know.. Grab them while you can. The G8 GT's are still beast, just behind in terms of technology interior wise. Check "Marks Works shop" here on you tube. He's in Australia pumping the GM V8's 800 plus at the wheels.. He also has a few of the new Camino's running hard with fully built motors and super chargers.. Be blessed!

I took a S4 on a test drive and it was disappointing. The steering is numb. It's good but it's kind of boring. The SS is more comfortable, especially in the back seat, faster, makes better sounds.

I had an S4 for 3 years before I traded it in when buying a Cayman S a few months ago. It was the funnest sedan I've ever driven. Ecu swap + basic bolt-ons and it was keeping up with M3s and killing any muscle car i ran into, especially straight off the line. I put a good 25k miles on it every year and drove it hard as hell and it only needed two minor repairs, a blown radiator due to AZ summer heat and a leaky power steering fluid hose. Engine was solid. It's also faster stock than the SS is, both 0-60 and track time. SS 0-60 is about 4.7-4.6, S4 is 4.3. Plus it was good for going out into the desert, you could basically drive it anywhere. Now I daily a subaru forester and I hate it, but at least I have the Porsche for weekends, and nothing competes with the Porsche with PDK and sport chrono as far as fun goes, 0-60 in 3.8 isn't too bad either.

I had a Audi RS5 and just got rid of it, thank god. For a high end sports car I had so many problems with it. I’ll never buy another Audi. I bought an Audi for my daughter as well, and yep... problems. Glad you had good luck with them.

+Kaufman Entertainment Interior shares very little as well, and no only the performance cars get the LS, the the Police caprice gets the L77 which is a truck engine but similar small block architecture to the LS.

+Kaufman Entertainment Dimensionally the cars are close but have differences obviously. You can get cast iron block LS engines and the LS3 handles boost no problem.

+sleepybird09 yeah, that first pass you could hear the engine fully drop out from first to second, an automatic just puts a heavily load on the engine. I don't think it's an adjustment of shift points, because he power shifted when he went up against the Vette, and it sounded closer to an automatic because he still had it slightly throttled up when he popped the clutch.
