Imagine how many times she died to memorise and adapt to every single pattern. Man. This was animated in such a way where it really seemed like she was a chatacter in a game

I don’t know if anyone else noticed, but at around 6:12 up to the point where she breaks the console, you can see the “ghost” of the male character and she is following the ghost exactly

If this game existed it would definitely be the hardest game ever

In the death montage, at 2:43 there's 3 frames where she's staring at the bounce pad and a coconut falls on her head, presumably killing her. During the escape at 6:53 she stops early to avoid the coconut trap. The coconut is positioned exactly over where she should stand to activate the bounce pad. Everything hinged on this one coconut lol.

3:20 is where she gets the key by going down the harder path instead of the easy one

This animation has its years.. But it won't get old, It just slams

This video has been recommended to me for years, I have always tried to avoid it because I thought it would be something weird that had been recommended to me by chance, but now that i see it i realize i've been running from a masterpiece, a museum-worthy piece of art, this is the best animation i've ever seen, and i'm completely grateful that I could see it

Fun Fact: Pausing at a frame in 4:12-4:13 gives you a small excerpt on a story called I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream. The story is about an AI who destroyed humanity except for 5 people to torture for 109 years by creating "metaphorical adventures" based on the characters flaws. This could be how Guy Collins Animation was inspired to make this.

7 year I came back to this video. Still bring tears to my eyes because of how the protagonist get to choose her lover or go home every time, but she choose to save him and lost over and over again until she can save her love. Extremely Inspirational for me to keep moving forward.

Even though most of the vid takes place inside a game, I don't think this video is about video games or video game addiction at all, unlike several comments I read. For me, the first few seconds of the video tell the whole story. Look at the guy's face when he comes home (0:22), and the way he drops his jacket. So much sadness, so much depression. That's what the video is about, in my opinion. It's about a depressed guy, and how his wife/gf tries as hard as she can to help him. She tries to make him happy with that NES/Kaizo Trap, and she tries to overcome all the hardships and difficulties on her way, to pull him out of his miserable condition. And it's hard. Yes, it's insanely hard. Giving up would be so much easier, and she contemplates that option for a brief moment, but she "continues" anyway, because she loves him and wants to do everything she can to save him. However, this is what the final boss battle tells us : she can't do it only by herself. She can't quite beat the boss until the guy starts pulling out those tubes attached to his body, making it all glitch. In other words, in order for the guy to get out of that depression, he does need his lover's support, but he also has to do his share. Anyway, that's my interpretation of the video. Feel free to tell me what you think about it, whether you agree or not...

4:12 HOLY SHIT, 6 YEARS AFTER I FIRST SAW THIS MASTERFUL ANIMATION AND ONLY NOW DO I GET WHY THEY DON'T HAVE MOUTHS INSIDE THE GAME; IT'S A BIG REFERENCE TO "I have no mouth, but I must scream". That's why the AM monologue is also present in the command screen.

You know watching this again I never noticed that towards the end, the machine looks in sorrow as its attacking her and once shes grabbed him and its collapsing in on itself, it looks happy that she was able to beat it.

I will NEVER get over this video. It's so good and, like...I love that moment when she had the chance to give up, but she powered through. Especially because, in the part before it, you see ALL of the bloodstains showing how she had to learn though painful experience. And she probably felt each and every death.
