One of my all-time favorite meals is Königsberger Klopse. This dish holds a special place in my heart. It reminds me of the family dinners with my mom and Oma who needed to leave Königsberg during the second world war.
Königsberg was a beautiful, historic German Prussian city that became Kaliningrad after the second world war.
The sweet-and-sour creamy sauce is the highlight of this dish; the flavor is unlike anything else and so delicious.

I am my 86-year-old mother in law caretaker. She has Alzheimer's but grew up in Austria during the war. I make this dish often for her and she loves it, I think because she remembers eating it in her younger years.

My Dad grew up in Tilsit Germany during the second world war he is 88 and still cooks this dish very yummy done right 😬

Thank you for another lovely fall/winter recipe. I'll bet they taste even better the second night. I could easily see this being served with egg noodles and extra sauce.
