Chaehyun craked her voice on her first stage Black Mamba. I think that why she lost her confidence and craked her voice again 2-3 times after that. She is not a debuted idol like some trainee so she might dont khow how to mange her voice. Now I give her one of the best live singer and one of the most stable member along with dayeon. She improved so much and she have so much confidence now, even cheering the fans when she on stage. She did it great.

Chaehyun is the only one who has to under Wakeone in Kep1er members. I think Wakeone wanted her to making a solo debut just like jo yuri ex-izone

@@KittyTsundere we had leehi,jimin park, ailee, wendy, taeyeon, kim boa, luna, eunji, solji etc as rookies. Yes, all of them started in industry as kpop idols. I can't remember much about their vocal level back then, but it was a tough competition all around. I'm actually pretty impressed with newer soloists, however I also realised so few of them are under kpop idol category. There are pretty good ones.

But you can hardly hear it because she is using a lighter way of singing. She doesn't sing with too much chesty sound like Chaewon, that is why it helps her cover the nasality in her voice.

She is heady balanced I'd say,but in some cover like "This Christmas" she is very heady.

@Baylon Nikko No, IOI is better actually, the gap between sejeong and dawon is too big to be contrarrested by the gap betwen dawon/yeonjung, seola/chungha, and soobin/yoojung. While comparing vocal lines, imo, it's better to compare the levels/tiers of all the vocal line rather than looking for which vocalist is better than who individually. In this case, both groups have 4 vocalists with some degree of support: WJSN: dawon, yeonjung, seola and soobin IOI: sejeong, yeonjung, chungha and yoojung. Now, if we rank them into tiers: AA Sejeong (mid) AA-A - A Dawon (mid) Yeonjung (low) W-A Seola/Chungha (I'm not really familiar with any of them, but for what I've heard, chungha also has her averagish moments, and the differences between vocalist in the w-a tier isn't big per se so I'm putting both in the same line) W Soobin (high) Yoojung (low) You can see that 6/7 vocalists are in the same tier, near the same level, with another vocalist othe the "rival" group, the only one that is has her own tier is sejeong, and she's far from the best vocalist of wjsn, so she is the one who makes the difference between the 2 vocal lines, that's why IOI is better

Boeun,Hyungseo and Jimin. The first two I mentioned are somewhere in Weak To Average and Jimin is Weak. Boeun could arguably be a low average but she can get shallow so W-A is good for her. Edit: Jimin is weak to average,Seonyu is weak. I'm confused between Seonyu and Jimin for a moment and forgot to put Jimin in.

Stability (or how the hell you guys use the term "stable" for) =/= Good technique. Yes it can tell you about how effective or consistent your faves are in utilizing their vocal technique but a "stable" vocalist isn't always a good vocalist (ex. stable but NOT good vocalists: EVERGLOW Mia, STAYC, Dreamcatcher Siyeon, BTS Jungkook & Jin). Also "stability" or "stable" is used by KPOP stans too much since they don't know vocal technique that well or too lazy to learn about it thoroughly to understand how and why their faves sing that way. Also tbh we put in tooooo much faith and bias in consistency in determining whether a vocalist is good or not not knowing that there are other factors other than just bad technique in knowing why a performance might not go as well as intended lol (ex. Mariah Carey having one bad performance (flashbacks to New Year's Rocking Eve 2016 performance) does not make her a bad vocalist at all considering she has a handful of good performances as well). Also cracking is not always an indicator of bad technique since there are other factors outside of vocal technique that contribute to cracking as well such as lack of warm up, exhaustion, having a bad day, etc. (again, the overemphasis on consistency lol). Also, we crack sometimes while we talk too (especially guys in puberty) which can attribute to psychological and even biological reasons, but does that mean we're bad at talking? No, not at all lol. Also "hitting" high notes for their own case (since the only vocalists I definitely trust with the high notes are the Big Mama ladies and anyone with a developed head voice or support in much of the fifth octave) doesn't always indicate good vocalist since it matters about the quality of the "high" notes as well as a good majority of "high" notes hit by KPOP vocalists are strained or screamed or damaging to their vocal cords lmao.

@Baylon Nikko It’s because not only there is a bias or too much faith towards consistency but also bias or too much faith in company as well. Let me give you examples: - Joy and Xiumin praised as “good sub-vocalists” when Chaeyoung (who is around their level more or less) and V (the latter better than both by a nice gap) are bashed as if they don’t have any good vocal performances under their belt. - Suho gets the reputation of a “lead vocalist who can be a main in any other group” as if Jeongyeon and Nayeon can’t be and Rose who gets titled as “worst main vocalist” is better than him by a good shot. - EXO as a whole is thought to be better than all of BTS vocal line when only 3 (Chen, DO, and Baekhyun) are actually are better than the whole BTS and Jungkook and V are arguably a bit better than Suho, Xiumin, and the rest down there. Like look, I prefer EXO over BTS by a long shot but let’s not pretend that that everyone in EXO is a strong vocalist when EXO is a 8/9-membered group where not everyone is an ace or all-rounder like Baekhyun or Xiumin so that’s not feasible lol. - Rose is titled as “worst main vocalist” when she’s better than Haechan, Renjun, Chenle who get way more praise than she does. - Then once again Aespa gets praised as a strong vocal group and apparently it’s blasphemy to suggest that NMIXX is also one as well and 2 members are stronger than Aespa’s strongest vocalist Also there are so many strong vocalists and vocal lines who are not from SM (Big Mama, Hyolyn, Sandeul, MAMAMOO Solar, Wheein, and Hwasa, Brown Eyed Girls Jea, Narsha, and Gain, BTOB vocal line, etc.) and that a good amount of SM main vocalists were already good before SM and that “lead can be main in other group” and “sub can be lead in other group” only or mostly applies to the SM GGs and not necessarily their BGs lol.
