Well said praveen. Also one more point to be noted is that most of the farmers don’t own land themselves. Majority of them don’t have their own land and hence use land of zamindars on base of certainty agreements between them (pattam in Malayalam) for cultivation and hence they are not eligible for bank credit. The funny part is agricultural income in India in non taxable irrespective of the quantum of agricultural income. Now you understand who benefits from these schemes..
