Gossip Viv flew down to Orlando Florida to catch up with legendary rapper and ex Hit Squad member, K Solo. We talked about K Solo's Spellbound beef with DMX, getting jumped by Keith Murray and how Redman had to step in and EPMD not really having his back with the beef and disrespect of Ruff Ryders using the Head Bangers beat without permission. Check out more exclusively on ThisIs50.com and GossipViv.com

K-Solo is still dope! I met Solo in Chicago when Redman was being his hype man back in 1991 @ the Regal Theater with Common and Twister on the card and Das EFX was the headliner!

When I think about it, K-Solo's Spellbound gave me an inspiration for doing research on rare and obscure words of the English language, and write an extensive vocabulary word list. Not to say that K-Solo would get into that kind of topic to spell his rhymes, but who's to say that he wouldn't reach the next level and use harder words to spell rhymes with if he stuck on to that style, especially had it not been for DMX stealing K-Solo's style and claiming it for his own? K-Solo is THE true legend, and he is the TRUE and original author of Spellbound.😁

Oh, and I've been Boxing since I was 6 and started Martial Arts at 11. I've been in my share of violent situations in the Ring and on the Bricks. So I can easily see when a Fighter is tryna psych the Opponent out AND when a Fighter is tryna pump himself up and convince himself of how or why he's fitt'na Win the Scrap. When Solo started talking about X's drug use, that was his way of convincing himself and the listeners of why he'd win a scuffle. It's a way of Winning the Fight before it starts. Oh, and the Mike Tyson quote is actually a Public Quote, Bruh, not some secret thing that he said to you. Plus you quoted it wrong. It's, "Everybody has a Gameplan... until he gets punched in the face."

X is so Legendary because of his Authenticity. I don't know the details about who really wrote Spellbound, so I always reserve judgment about it. And there are a couple things in this Interview, though that I just flat out don't buy. First, K said that X is good at just mimicking styles. And nah, Big Homey; I just don't see that. He's one of the only Artists that actually refuses to change his Style to adapt to the New School waves. And the Irony with that is that the OG, K-Solo, shouted out Jay Z in the very same Interview that he just talked about how corny and sinful it is in Rap to jack somebody else's Flow... and Jay's been doing that since Day 1. And 2.) Solo attacked the Dog's character by trying to sell to the World that DMX was "scared" of him at the Apollo. And I just don't see that. It's been unanimously known and agreed upon that X isn't threatened by anything. So even if he felt like he'd lose a fist fight, I don't see him being scared of that.
