K Swapping My Honda Civic - Episode 3

Gears and Gasoline

4 жыл бұрын

I've decided to K swap my lovely little Honda Civic! The K24 engine is the king of Honda motors and it's swapped into almost everything because it's such a great motor! I'm putting a K24 from a TSX in the EK Hatch to replace it's current B16b. The B series was a great motor setup and I've had a lot of fun with it but it's time to move on to the Mighty K20 / K24! With a TSX K24 and K20 head, i'm shooting for the most amount of power possible out of a naturally aspirated, non built motor! We'll see what happens!
Special thanks to Ktuned for sponsoring this build!

@GearsandGasoline

Hahahaha fair point. The sacrifice-benefit ratio just isn't there for me for stiffer engine mounts. It doesn't give enough benefit to justify rattling my fillings out. These 62a mounts are perfect
@JasonMcMullen
@JasonMcMullen 4 жыл бұрын
@@GearsandGasoline The 62A will be fine, especially having all the mounts it will have a cumulative effect and the engine will stay in place. I have a 70A for rear lower mount and it rattles the dash a little too much, but the 62A I have as a top torque mount is perfect. Shout out to Hasport for always making great stuff

An engine mount with metal "bushings" would make the car rattle pretty hard at high rpms.

@@GearsandGasoline I have 75A mounts in my Civic and I got used to them pretty quick, the one thing I'm not really a fan of is the vibrations when idling. I don't notice it anymore unless I'm idling in drive with the AC on, then it's slightly annoying.

I had 60a mounts on my old RSX-S, definatly had more vibrations than stock, but my old mounts were all torn, so compared to nothing, it was stiff. Lol

It’s a stock block k24 with 2.2 DC cams and a stock intake manifold. On e85 maybe 250 at the tires. If you want 300 stock block you need 3.2 or bigger cams , sk2 ultra manifold and head work.
4 жыл бұрын
@@PolishedMobileDetailing503 Exactly, there is NO way in hell this thing comes close to 300.. To reach 300whp, he would need bigger cams, higher compression pistons that would actually see gains from e85, and yes a valvetrain upgrade. tbh, I think he is lucky if he hits 250 wheel.. It depends on the dyno, but here, there is no way he would see over 250 with just 2.2 cams.
@hotdropknockdndc681
@hotdropknockdndc681 4 жыл бұрын
Yep. Agreed. I'm thinking 230ish whp MAYBE. NA is hard and extremely expensive to achieve high hp. Gonna need to bore it alot more than just RBC and 80mm throttle body. Gonna need bigger piston bore, way bigger fuel setup including injectors, and go straight race fuel and not E85, etc. It wouldn't be street drivable in order to do so. Just my opinion but based on past experiences. I'm a NA guy. I've owned plenty of boosted cars but I love natural NA torque for low HP track racing. Regardless, car is going to run amazing for daily drivability and track days.
