K Swapping My Honda Civic - Episode 1

Gears and Gasoline

4 жыл бұрын

I've decided to K swap my lovely little Honda Civic! The K24 engine is the king of Honda motors and it's swapped into almost everything because it's such a great motor! I'm putting a K24 from a TSX in the EK Hatch to replace it's current B16b. The B series was a great motor setup and I've had a lot of fun with it but it's time to move on to the Mighty K20 / K24! With a TSX K24 and K20 head, i'm shooting for the most amount of power possible out of a naturally aspirated, non built motor! We'll see what happens!
Special thanks to Ktuned for sponsoring this build!

Something to note about this video: We no longer endorse Jspec as a source for buying JDM parts. Jspec was supposed to be a reputable source to buy parts from instead of buying from the classifieds. It's sad to hear there are allegations against them for selling stolen parts from Japan. Because of this, we can no longer endorse them as a source for buying JDM parts.

B is best. Having the best of both worlds has made me really fall in love with the B series even more. It's so simple and easy to work on and I swear it could survive the apocalypse.

Since when did 260 horsepower make a car not streetable? 😂😂

In a car that weighs around 2000 pounds the wheels are gonna spin too much off the launch and you have to be more careful with it

It doesnt. But, I know Ben will also be doing other upgrades in the powertrain, such as a ceramic clutch, lightweight flywheel, limited slip differential, Urethane or Delrin mounts, etc... All of these will increase NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) and will take away from it's smooth driving characteristics as it had. I have actually driven this Civic, and it changed my opinion of Hondas of that era. Can't wait to meet up with Ben sometime this year and get an opportunity to drive it afterwards.

If he runs hard mounts, doesnt keep ac, runs a twin disk, doesnt have decent coilovers, or runs a 3" exhaust, uses race harnesses only, deletes the heater core, or runs a top mount shifter, it's not that it's not streetable, it's that you wouldnt want to use it to pick up paper towels at cvs or hit a drive through late at night. It just becomes an annoyance for normal life stuff.

ikr should be more streetable with the 6th speed compare the b16 5th on the highway, plus rhdkev drove his integra everywhere with his k24 k20 frank.

Never been a Honda guy, don’t even like them to begin with. But the passion this guy has with his car and the energy to work on his car. It brings tears to my eyes. My respects!

Video quality is amazing, narration doesn’t feel heavy where you’re smashed with so many facts and production is mint. You guys deserve all the subs!!

Dude, this is so exciting - found this channel back in summer when I first bought my R. Absolutely loving this K24 swap and I love that you've decided to go down the NA route - subsequently what I've decided to with mine, except I'm staying with the same engine! Can't wait to see this evolve! Love it ✌️🇯🇵
