Yes..the engineer is not disclosing all the facts about the enhanced capacities.. simply comparing the earlier estimate to present spending. But he should explain earlier estimate of works like how many lakhs of ayacut earlier and now. Automatically is ayacut area increase automatically cost also increasees. Why the Engineer is nor comparing earlier estimate works and present taken up works. That means..all this is mudslinging program before elections.

When you compare the costing of Panahita and KLIP the difference is 11k cr. (Apple to Apple comparison) for 110-140 TMC water. Also Maharashtra denied access for reservoir catchment area. They have converted the most of the P&C project reservoir area to forest area. So practically no permissions for P&C Project. Further the TMC would be 90-110. KCR first initiated to complete the P&C Project, later from objections from Maharashtra govt. (FADNAVIS) and water availability issues, further engineers suggested KLIP to pump water until Yelamplli. Now the major question, why the project cost shooted to 80k cr, because of increasing capacity of Mallanna sagar from 3 TMC to 50 TMC Kondapochama and other projects to circulate the water within the state to cover water for all purpose use even at the server drought times in future.

After hearing the explanation KCR did the right thing. This engineer is forgetting the fact that Maharashtra did not allow higher damn permission and now our barrages are in Telangana & Chattisgarh. Also pranahita has good flow because there is a reserve forest which cannot be tampered by Chattisgarh and there is catchment of adilabad to collect water and this is all in Telangana.

U have see the other side of the coin, then Comment/judge someone- The height of the proposed barrage in the original plan would also submerge large fertile areas in Maharashtra. It raised objection to the same. The original plan also did not plan for adequate water storage reservoirs and largely relied upon series of lifts throughout. In 2016, Telangana and Maharashtra governments entered into an MoU to resolve this. The whole project was redesigned with adequate barrages and reservoirs aided by pumps and lifts at appropriate places under the new name - “Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project”.
