Mountaineering is not a sport. It is an example of HUMAN SELFISHNESS that steps on the neck of its own brothers to climb a mountain and come down, and in the process fill the pure glaciers with all kinds of human garbage, from the most basic urine and feces to plastics, metal bottles, even the toxic batteries by the horde of self-centered, disloyal and hypocritical insensitive people who celebrate their selfies on top of the corpse of a human with whom they lived excitedly half an hour ago.

This is the best organized of many videos about K-2 and other 8,000m peaks. It shows stage-by-stage (camp-by-camp) with the intervening climbs, terrain, time, distance, and inclines included. Quite a feat to climb K-2, and keep presence of mind and cool to video the ascent as well. Calm and organized as you are, there's a ton of drama in all of it just getting as real a sense of what it is like, as is possible from watching a video! Other than praise for your knowledge, skill and talent ... you guys are NUTS!! Planning for years maybe, training, months out of your life for the climb itself, to get to the top at considerable risk, only to want to get down as soon as possible because the place is "trying to kill you!" as it were. I'd rather take a couple of weeks off with a snorkel kit and go to a place dedicated to making you comfortable and healthy (aka "a resort hotel"). You guys should try it sometime! P.S. The only ice you find there is in your drinks!

28th of July 2021... This particular moment is just 3 days after The Killer Mountain claimed another climber. Mindblowing how K2 is so savage - on an average of every 4 climbers, 1 remains there forever (metaphorically). The death rate actually dropped to around 13% in recent years. In 2022 there were 190 successful summits and only 1.6% of climbers died in the attempt. It is becoming commercialized the same way Everest is. Sherpas and Pakistanis, who in the past did not, are now more willing to be paid to carry foreign climbers equipment and supplies, while leading the climb. My guess is, in the coming years. We will see thousands of people successfully climb K2 just like Everest, with much much lower death rate.

It must be such an awesome feeling to summit the holy grail of mountaineering! K2 is the mountain of mountains and has the combination of truly magnificent beauty, high probability of treacherous weather conditions, terrifying and technically difficult slopes! I don’t believe I have ever seen better weather conditions on this scary mountain, but you still had to climb to the top with all the dangers and risks. Congratulations on making it to the top and safely down! 👏👏👏👏👏👏 I have say this is possibly the best video of K2 climbing I have seen, especially the exquisite photography and visuals of such a magical place on our planet.

Congrats to all the Sherpas and porters who made this video possible! Carrying all the equipment to base camp, fixing all the ropes, setting up 4 camps with hot tea and cookies on the mountain, hauling dozens of oxygen bottles up to the higher camps, and finally cleaning up and bring most of the stuff back down again. Sherpas and porters, this is the best Ketu video you have done yet! Thanks a lot. BTW, there was a British guy who held the camera but I don't remember what his name was.

This is easily the best video I have seen on K2 …absolutely superb…well done …for a successful effortless climb but also to have the energy to film the whole journey? Respect to you. Finally my appreciation to the guys who lay the ropes! We should try capturing that …would be wonderful to see!

Hi there, House's Chimney and the route after that looked very challenging indeed. 80 degrees or more!! You need to control ur mind and not panic. That probably also happens, for first timers, if and the weather changes abruptly. And it does there, on those heights. Very calming, reassuring and convincing presentation as such.. You can hear from breaths how demanding it is. Even for a guy in that good shape. With this guy I can imagine ppl taken up by him feel safe. As safe as it ever can be. More and more accidents happen, every year though. K2 is the most challenging one of all top mountains. Keep it up your great work ✌️

All of your climbs look so effortless 👍🏼 and all this positivity during the climb is just awesome. Especially with the K2 it sounds like you happen to visit your granny rather than climb the deadliest mountain on the planet 😅 excellent content. Cool attitude. What a level of professionalism. Adds mountaineering a whole other level of humanity and humbleness. At least in my inspiration when I see your work. Thanks for sharing your invaluable experience.

Jon, I'm pretty sure that this is the BEST ascent of K2 out there. Your attention to every detail, along with showing us each landmark is unsurpassed ... AND you filmed as you climbed while narrating the entire film!! AMAZING!!! Btw ... I was so happy that you didn't stop filming once you & your team summitted. We need to see the descends as well. Thank you for such a beautifully captured K2 climb. ❤❤❤❤❤

Even though I saw this in my recommendations at 3.30am when I was about to go to bed (why couldn't you do it earlier KZfaq?!) I couldn't resist to watch it. Man, absolutely stunning views and scenes in perfect weather 😍 But views on the summit day, I don't know what to say, my head would explode 🤯 What a visibility and perfectly scattered clouds below, just ideal to spice things up and not obscure the view too much! As a photographer I'd suffer more cause of the fact that I can't take pics every minute than from rarefied air and steepness 🙆‍♂😂 I can't even imagine the feeling of finally stepping on top of that monster and in such conditions, I think I'd cry like a baby, wouldn't believe I'm there. Well, congrats, this is something to cherish for the rest of your life and thanks for the wonderful video! 🍻
