I used to be a electronic hobbyist during my college days. I was enjoying your video and want to highlight a danger in your circuit arrangement. There is high risk of electric shock even you disconnect the main. Capacitors are charge storage device and there will live 220V even after disconnect the main and touch any of the connection points. Suggest you should add a high ohm resistor parallel to the capacitor for discharging the statis voltage to ensure safety.

220v is rms, capacitors charge to peak value. so probability of volts in excess 300v!!

The motivation of the project is to cut supply when someone is steeling. But in this demonstration it is seen that, while increasing load current is flowing through the load..... It is not interrupting supply.... To do that need to measure load current and cut the supply using a relay when the amount of current exceed the limit......

Sir, i used chinese touch switches in my home that came with small capacitors to be connected in parallel to the load. I had several problems (flickering led light, electrical equipments getting short) and I removed all those capacitors. After removing them my electricity bill has doubled with the same usage. I am wondering what is the logic behind that. Would be great if you can demystify that .

When shorted, full voltage drops across capacitor. Capacitive reactance comes around 600 ohm. When load is given, voltage is shared by both proportional to their ohmic value.
