Kaabo Mantis King GT WARNING DON’T BUY!

7 ай бұрынWorst purchase ever….. I bought mine from fluidfreeride and long story short within less than 10 miles ( 2 days into owning it, the power would cut out randomly ). When I brought it in to the fluidfreeride shop in Williamsburg the guy ( chuck the manager ) immediately said they are known for issues. Got my refund. Bruh….. I’m very disappointed
Long story: I wanted to buy a folding and most importantly locking e-scooter that was 40+ mph and 50+ miles range and could carry 250+LBs so the Kaabo Mantis King GT seemed like a good option. I rode it without any issues the first day. The 2nd day on the final ride of that day I was riding my mantis in traffic amongst other cars doing 40+ mph when all of a sudden the power cut out and I almost got rear ended. I had to come to a complete stop and lift my scooter above the curb to get on the sidewalk / bike path ( the bike path is like littered with crater size pot holes and obnoxious tripping hazards on ocean parkway in Brooklyn NY…… they definitely neglect it for years so can you blame me for riding my scooter on the 3 lane road? ). I call up fluidfreeride and they tell me to go to the shop in Williamsburg which is an hour away ( I live in Coney Island brooklyn ). I drop off the scooter to chuck the manager who immediately told me that they are known for low voltage cutouts and that the controller replacement would be a 50/50 chance it would fix the problem……. Disappointed I requested for a refund. I didn’t sign up for a scooter that just randomly cuts power. Could be bad news espically if I would be in the middle or far right lane. So yea that’s my story. Don’t buy the Kaabo Mantis King GT.

Lo que puede ser es que algunos scooter los dejan con la modalidad para no partir desde cero en velocidad, sino que debes darte un impulso inicial y eso se cambia en las configuraciones.

Laotie ES10p is a better scooter and less $$$ than that Mantis.40mph, 28.8 21700 battery, 10' tires with split rims, 43 mile range.

For future reference, a 60v lithium ion pack reaches full charge around the 67v mark. 60v is the nominal voltage.

Good to know. The voltage reading didn’t have anything to do with anything. Come to find out the first batch of the Kaabo Mantis King GT had an underlying controller issue which resulted in me getting a full refund from fluid.

Interesting how you had issues with your Mantis King GT after such a short time... I've been having some mechanical and reliability issues with my Mantis V2. I've had mine since September 2023 and I'm definitely not pleased with how much time and effort I have had to put into this scooter of mine to keep it going. Definitely gonna go to Nami and sell this thing to someone else. Unfortunate, because otherwise it's a decent deal, but for $1700, the V2 feels like they cheaped out on all the things that mattered the most. :/ Kaabo was supposed to be one of the more quality brands too, and everyone recommends them, but I don't think these reviewers even think about what they might get from a warehouse and only see the greatness from their cherry-picked samples.

In the video you see I got me the mantis king from fluid which ended up giving me a full refund because they couldn’t guarantee me the latest king ( a new version with all the bugs fixed ) which is what lead me to buy another king GT from VoroMotors. The sales experience is night and day. They even show you the differences the scooter has gone through from batch one to the latest batch via complaints and warranty repairs and they explain to you exactly what’s what. Long story short……. Fluid maybe a contender for scooter sales but Voro will stay taking my money. As for the Kaabo Mantis V2 I can’t speak about but my mantis king GT has held up and is earning the money I spent on it. If you bought the mantis your just like me. You want a scooter you can ultimately fold and lock and carry with one hand. You get yourself any Nami or anything but the mantis your gonna regret it. Turns out fluid sold me the first batch. And couldn’t guarantee a new batch or repair. So I got my refund and when I stopped by Voro they assured me I would get the latest batch. They even ran down and showed me the difference between the old ( showroom ) and new out the box. I went in person.

just received 2 Mantis King GT's today from Voro via UPS. One is DOA, won't even turn on. Charged 6 hours, as instructed by Voro. Still dead.

Update: After being fully charged (charger was the issue), units are top notch. Both scooters have been awesome, except for easily fixed issues, and the most fun on two wheels. They are well built machines equipped with strong motors and reliable, long lasting samsung lithium batteries. No regrets. Voromotors have been responsive and very helpful throughout.

I have the same issue man, from time to time, just turn off the scooter first and then turn it on again, will be good for shure.

It's possible a throttle issue but I would suspect more of controller b. Is faulty and it needs to be replaced.This should be done by VoroMotors for free, I just had a mantis 10 coming our shop today with a front wheel locking up. It was the same. Issue controller burnt up. But you do have to remember. If company a sells 10000 scooters. And has 5000 defective ones. Company B sells 60000 scooters. And has 5800 defective ones. Company b is going to look worse. And Kaabo sells a ton of them. Kaabo Is actually a very good brand and the company usually does right. I have never had any issues with my. Wolf x or King GT Pro myself, And even though this video is here, I will probably still purchase the method king GT , If this is a ongoing issue I am sure they will Fix it fairly quickly.. Thank you for the video however, and informing others.

I bought this Kaabo Mantis King GT from fluidfreeride which ultimately lead to a full refund. I went to VoroMotors and ended up buying another which is perfectly fine now. When I took my mantis king GT to fluid about this problem they couldn’t guarantee me that I would get the latest version thus leading to the refund. When I went to VoroMotors they guaranteed I would get the latest version with all bugs fixed and I still ride my Kaabo mantis king GT til this day. 400+ miles on it without a problem.

Fluid free rides should take care of you. A lot of people have had good luck with the Mantis. Dualtron or Nami, might be your next options

I’m never shopping at fluid ever again…… I dropped off my scooter on the 18th of November only to be told 10 days later that it was ready for pickup on the 28th of November ( KENNY the phone representative said “your scooters ready for pickup ). It’s a total of 2 hours round trip and I went twice (4 hours total). When I went to pick up my scooter I was told that the repair would be a 50% success and was refunded and that for the whole 10 days it hasn’t been touched. I got my refund but also missed my chance of buying a PEV for Black Friday. Could have went elsewhere maybe Voro……

@@utkureviews bummer. That sucks. It sucks that there still really isn't reliable servicing and accountability for these machines. Minimotors is probably the most present company in the US and is an actual dealer, but even those only come with a 6 month warranty unless you pay for more. I've had good experiences with FFR in the past. You got reimbursed? That's a good thing. Bummer it means you missed on other deals

I bought the Kaabo you see in the video from fluidfreeride which was an older batch. I ended up getting a full refund because they couldn’t guarantee I would get the latest version. So I went to VoroMotors and they assured me I was getting the latest Kaabo with all bugs fixed. I still have it now and it runs great no issues.

Brought it in to fluidfreeride shop in Brooklyn ny. The manager chuck their said “yea….. these have a known problematic issue and that fixing it is a 50/50” I’m like wait what???? Refund me ASAP

@utku5721 if the problem is a faulty controller switching brands isnt going to stop the chances of getting a bad one. they basically all use sinewave. well atleast nami does. dualtron scooter use sqaure wave but less throttle input would suck. i think you messed up by purchasing through fluid. voromotors i think does a better screening and had much better customer support.

Ahh, don't you have to kick push, and be on the scooter, to move ..? Its a safety thing, to stop the scooter from buzzing away when you're walking it

Kick push is a setting that was turned off. I like my scooters thumb throttle. The Kaabo mantis king GT was purchased from fluidfreeride. It was the first batch which had a lot of bugs and problems. I ended up getting a refund and rebuying the same scooter from VoroMotors which was the latest batch. No problems now
