Kadala curry | Chickpeas curry | Sundal Kulambu | கடலை கறி is a healthy and tasty gravy made with black chickpeas and home made coconut masala. This is served along with Puttu in kerala so also known as Puttu Kadala curry. This healthy curry is very easy to make and goes well with Chapathi and rice too.

Kadalakari
Ingredients:
Black Chickpeas - 1 cup
(Soaked for 10 hrs)
FOR MASALA
Oil - 1 tsp
Cinnamon stick 1" - 2
Cardamom - 2
Clove - 5
Star Anise - 1
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Fennel Seeds - 2 tsp
Coriander Seeds - 3 Tbsp
Red Chilli - 12
Poppy Seeds - 1 Tbsp
shallots - 6
Grated Coconut - 1/2 cup
Water - 1/2 cup
FOR GRAVY
Sesame Oil - 2 Tbsp
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Fennel Seeds - 1 tsp
Curry Leaves - As required
Onion(finely chopped) - 1 cup
Green chilli - 4
Tomato(cubed) - 1 cup
Ginger Garlic Paste - 2 Tbsp
Turmeric - 1 tsp
Salt - As required
Water - 1 cup
Cilantro - For Garnish
