In this Kadence Theme Tutorial, you'll learn to build a complete site with Kadence using the plugin: Starter Templates by Kadence. This was all done using the free version of Kadence, but the pro version provides a TON of extra functionality, it's worth checking out here: ideaspot.com.a...
This tutorial uses only the standard WordPress Gutenberg editor, combined with Kadence Starter templates and Kadence blocks, making it actually pretty easy.
Starting out with one of the new Kadence starter template pages, we customize the content. Starting by customizing the headers and footers. Then, moving onto the page content, we show how to edit the starter template content, as well as import additional pre designed blocks from the Gutenberg Blocks by Kadence plugin.
The Kadence blog page is pretty easy to work with in the Customizer and the blog posts follow a similar process. The final step is setting up the Kadence form on the contact page so it is able to send emails.
Overall, I certainly liked using this theme. By adding the template and block plugins this workflow becomes almost as easy as using Astra & Elementor. I still think Astra maybe a little easier for beginners, but interested to know what you think!

Very well done tutorial. I'm planning to switch from elementor to Gutenberg to increase speed and improve mobile responsiveness. Would adding Kadens items slow it down or not really? Thank you

Thanks Alex for this very interesting tutorial. I was always using Astra and Elementor and wasn't interested at all by using Gutenberg. You have completely changed my mind. I think Kadence is a lot better than Astra in terms of Customization, especially for blogs. Regarding Gutenberg, I had tried it with the early version and didn't like it at all. Now with your tutorial, I see that Gutenberg has improved a lot and I will give it another try. Thanks again Alex.

Hey Alex, this theme has changed sooooo much since you published this awesome tutorial, especially once you start editing the home page at 16:16 minutes in. They've even moved Color and re-labeled that as Colors & Fonts... and that option is now at the start of Customizer... and now, Typography and Button are under Colors & Fonts. I really do appreciate your tutorial here, as I find WordPress to be VERY painful to use since they forced the Block Editor on their users.

Been using Thrive and then tried DIVI. I am liking this. Powerful, clean and minimal bloat. I had already done some installation before watching your video. I did not install the Starter Templates but see I already have it installed I installed "Kadence Blocks - Gutenberg Blocks for Page Builder Features" and I conlude that this automatically installs the Starter templates Thank you for a great overview

You are my new best friend! :) I've been dreading rebranding and rebuilding my sites with Astra and Beaver Builder on some and Elementor on others. Although they work well for me, I'm BLOWN AWAY at Kadence! OMG Oh, and side note, your accent and voice volume is much appreciated. I'm loving playing with this theme and the blocks are so FUN! I know you did this video a couple of years ago....maybe time for an update....most web developers miss out the kadence block default settings....pixels should not be used if possible and those settings are in the block default settings....Nice video!

I do have one question, I wonder if you can change the text on the buttons on the first page, one says 'Get Started' and the other "Learn More'. Are they set or can they be changed. I'd like to move a recently-inherited site with a very old page builder on it to the Kadence blocks, but I'd need to keep the old theme. Does it work OK with other themes? What about the Kadence templates - is that just for the Kadence theme? Thanks for the video!

You can just install kadence blocks on the site and try it out, best to take a backup first obviously but should be fine - no need to use kadence theme

Great 👌 vid. Very in-depth. Yes I too am in the process of changing over from elementor. Would be great to see a step by step vid of how to prepare a dev and production site for a swap out from astra.ele. To kadence please. I say this cos I created a few big hiccups on both if my sites. DOH! And you guessed it I had to restore from backup. Anyways great channel and look fwd to ta next one. 👍

OMG! I may actually dump Elementor! Gutenburg is getting better and better. This theme is absolutely amazing and fast with little to no optimization.

Hi, that is really a wonderful tutorial. I will follow your future videos. I will soon create a website for a client using Kadence et Elementor. But when I saw your tuto, I will use Gutenberg because it is easier for my client. Also I think that using Gutenberg, the website will be less heavier that with Elementor. My question is, can I importe astra templates and elements in the kadence theme? this will provide more blocks that maybe not found in Kadence. What do you think ? Thanks

Have you a good plugin for kadence theme that popup sidebar for my shop? From left side of the screen so you can hide and show the sidebar when you want it.? Example for my category ..

Hi, the kadence starter templates are for Gutenberg, they can’t be edited with elementor - they will release Elementor templates soon!

Arjun Kudva that is already a good combo - it would be a lot of work to change theme and change to another opt in system too. I would probably stick with what you have on existing sites, if you want to build new sites in the future then maybe test kadence + another opt in plugin. But there is nothing wrong with sticking with divi that’s a great setup

Hi, great video. I have uploaded the shopping template for kadence theme. I have made some changers and now like to reset it back to the factory setting. I have tried to delete the theme and the shopping layout template but still cant get it to the factory settings. Do you have any tips? Thanks I just want to reset the theme and the page template not wordpress setting.

Hi, sorry for the late reply - the method I use to get a factory reset is to 1) delete all media in media library, 2) use a plugin like advanced WP reset to reset the database. This will give you a fresh WP install, but you keep all the plugins so its quick to setup again. Be sure to save or export and pages/posts/products before doing this that you want to keep - this is a full reset.

Although I have divi lifetime membership the result could be really close with less effort I think and with much faster loading times . If you dont mind taking a minute to see taxisantorini.eu and see the loading times I achieved . Keep up the tutorials . It's the future of the web !

george karamolegos Divi is a great choice, I think it’s the most popular pro theme and its performance increased a lot since 2019 - others aren’t even close to divi in features. Your page is well optimized and is loading in half a second across Europe!! - you’re doing excellent work there is no need to change just because something is new and shiny and bloggers are talking about it 😅

I did everything in this video with the free version, like most free Wordpress stuff there is also a pro version with more features but it isn’t needed to do any of the things in these tutorials

Gutenberg is the default editor & Kadence is the first time i didn't mind using Gutenberg, but I still feel like Elementor and Divi are a long way ahead in terms of being user friendly.

This is by far the best tutorial on the kadence theme on youtube! So much value packed into this tutorial...delivery is just flawless. I have some questions though 1. I would love to display some blog posts on my home page under the following heads - our latest content, featured post, reviews etc. Pls see this site as inspiration for what am saying - campsmartly.com. How do i go about a design like this in kadence? 2. Would you consider building an affiliate marketing website using kadence and/or astra? You are the best. Am subbed already!

Kadence is not entirely free since it requires Kadence blocks PRO at 59$ US a year

Make sure your homepage is defined under settings > reading like this: snipboard.io/Ix6jqH.jpg If you want to edit the blog page, leave the posts page bank in that setting, or if you want to use the customizer to control your blog page then define the blog page in there - the following tutorial explains the blog page some more: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/i9Fplrh7l6nclmg.html I'm not sure where it says a pro version is needed, I haven't needed one to do these... could you send a screen shot perhaps? with snipboard.io/

I tried installing. It says "installation failed. The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet." When I followed your instructions, two different zip files were downloaded. One is named "kadence-starter-templates.zip" and the other is named "kadence-blocks.zip" I tried installing both of them. They're both returning the same installation failed message. Please advise.
