Gallagher also kinda works because he can give Robin 32 energy by ulting. But yes Quid Pro Quo is pretty much mandatory, for Aventurine or any preservation character to come near they would have to attack 16 times to match QPQ Gallagher for example. And Huohuo gives even more, a whole 48 energy is crazy for Robin's uptime

Yeah, that's probably the way to go outside of the FUA team. Unfortunately, I think for my type of content, Huohuo doesn't cut it anymore which is unfortunate.

I'm like one of the least qualified to answer for this since I have not run a sustain seriously in a really long time. Some of my thoughts: 1. Ruan Mei's ult buff is basically a unique multiplier to the team, which is something DoT teams really want since they mainly only scale off of their own attack, % damage, # of enemy actions and # of kafka actions. Compared to Robin whose ult buffs mainly attack. Because DoT chars generally run with more attack (compared to crit chars), the % improvement from Robin's atk buff is smaller. The buffs at base are about even. RM boosts basically 25% final damage against matching-weakness while a Kafka having 4K attack and boosted by 1K atk from Robin would have a similar effect. IMO it tilts quite a bit in favor of RM when including ult uptime. I have actually not tried Robin outside of 0-cycles, but I don't think her ult recovery SPD is anything to write home about outside of an FUA team. 2. Robin's personal damage contribution is far lower with a sustain compared to here, when RM also buffs Robin's damage. The DoT team itself also does not have too many actions. While Kafka FUAs frequently and ults somewhat frequently, the same can't be said for any of her teammates that generally have long ult rotations. 3. RM has immense ease of comfort via speed and ease of breaking. Makes breakpoints easier to hit and many enemies much more straightforward to handle. DoT teams also stand to benefit extra from breaks compared to normal teams (before superbreak) because they can proc break DoTs. 4. Robin's extra turn is not all that useful in DoT lineups imo. The only character in DoT lineups who scales well with their own # of turns is Kafka. Compare this to other lineups like Topaz+Ratio where all their individual turns do significant damage and help in other ways (like speeding up Numby). The extra energy is certainly helpful but is (imo) not too special because of the long ult rotations of Kafka's teammates like Swan and Guinafen. This vid shows probably the only exception to that where with enough external energy sources, Swan getting double ults allows the Arcana to stack twice. But this is not normally possible. 5. SP problems. The previous 'premier' DoT team of Kafka/Swan/Huohuo/RM always had a precarious SP situation. Over 3 turns, Kafka is (hopefully) -3, Huohuo is +1, RM is +1 and Swan is hopefully +1. But problems arise when Swan needs to reapply her debuffs earlier, like when a boss changes phase or we finish a wave earlier than expected. Robin strains the opener even more by forcing Huohuo to BA for basically the first 2 turns. At E0S1, it's not close, RM pulls way ahead. So I guess to summarize: Comfort: RM is way ahead Actual damage output: I would still guess RM, but it's kind of complicated. Depending on how many cycles somebody is targeting, their exact setup. I'm too lazy to think about things like this so anyone reading this should probably give the lineups a spin instead and see for themselves. I'm ready to be convinced otherwise, but my default team for basically every other content is still Swan/Kafka/Mei/Huohuo. Anyway, if you're using this to decide whether you want Mei or Robin, the answer is probably that you want both anyway lol.

might be able to do the first side. first side depends more on kafka's dmg, second side on swan's dmg. If you get the right SPD ordering, you may still be able to achieve it since it's quite overkill for me at the moment
