Episode 4 of Love is War Season 2 was just released and some of it is a monogatari reference.

I just saw it on reddit, and it was pretty sharp for the person to notice the references. I somehow enhanced the video, added some background music to create a feeling of monogatari scene.
Just to make it clear; I'm not the one who noticed nor made the comparison. It was already an existing video from reddit. Again; I just did some editing like adding a blurred background & music to enhance the video :)

Kaguya-sama is actually a lot more Shaft than Shaft itself in that part. They combine together the “in-between” mood text with the close up shot of the eye.

It's not even that it feels "shafty," this is a direct homage to this exact scene from Bakemonogatari. And tbh it's less Shaft's style and more Akiyuki Shinbou's style.

Monogatari is a work of art. The best anime I have ever watched. The music is 10 out of 10, the visuals and art are just incredibly good, the characters are all absolutely unique and you believe in them and their motivation. The only negative is that if you don't look carefully you can easily lose track of what's going on.

I just wanted to imagine how much of an eccentric anime would Kaguya-sama would be if Shaft animated it. When I first saw it I recognized the scene and the possibilities of Shaft going all out with it if they have the rights to animate is interesting.

I immediately noticed this during the episode.. after a few frame especially when they start to focus on shirogane's ahoge.. A very well done parody scene... it doesn't really feel like shaft but got me thinking what it will looks like if shaft pickup this series instead of a1 ... By no means, a1 really done a very good job with details and colour palettes for the entire series.

This is actually the second reference the series has made to monogatari!! Back in season 1 when they were discussing where to go on a vacation and there was an imagining of Shirogane and Kaguya lying on the grass looking at the night sky, Miyuki pointed out Deneb, Altair, and Vega, just like Araragi pointed them out to Senjougahara! :DD at the time I thought It must've been a coincidence but it clearly wasn't
